The department of Manufacturing Engineering is responsible to develop and implement new technologies to support our factories requests and needs.

The organization consists of Research engineers, MSM, TPEs, MTMs and MTSs covering all the technical areas of BIC and Final assembly processes. We are now looking for Technology integration specialist.

As a Manufacturing Digital Integration Engineer, you will work closely with Manufacturing Technology Managers, Manufacturing Technology Specialists to support the development, integration, and implementation of new manufacturing technologies.

Who are you?

As a Manufacturing Digital Integration Engineer, you will support and accelerate technology development to bring value to manufacturing processes.

Data Analysis:

  • Create an analytical hypothesis taking business requirements into consideration.
  • Conduct analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance.
  • Visualize complex analytics output to enable and increase understanding of decision-makers
  • Apply statistics and mathematics models to understand and solve business problems on data.
  • Organize code and manipulate very large complex data sets for data exploration/mining/quality and business value purposes.
  • Be an expert in relevant business domains, combining knowledge of processes and data.
  • Work efficiently, securely, and ethically using emerging technologies validated by Volvo Group, like Volvo GPT, while respecting the Volvo Group's principles.

IoT Device Integration:

  • Integrate and tailor IoT devices for capturing data from manual production processes.
  • Integrate IoT devices seamlessly into existing systems to facilitate smart automation.
  • Utilize data obtained from IoT devices to get new insights from production processes.
  • Create visualization to support users based on the acquired data.

Best Practices and Business Requirements:

  • Define and establish best practices for the integration of current and future IT applications.
  • Formulate business requirements to ensure seamless integration of data from newly deployed devices.

MTM/MTS/LTS Network Support:

  • Support the MTM/MTS/LTS network by actively participating in the development and execution of activities outlined in the RoadMap.
  • Provide support to plants, ensuring the seamless integration of technology.
  • Collaborate with teams to drive the adoption of Industry 4.0 principles in the technology integration process.

Skills, Experience, and mindset

  • You have an interest in emerging technologies and are curious to explore.
  • You value continues learning and development of yourself.

  • Software development within the IT/OT domain (Python, Kubernetes, GIT Hub, AI, ML, Grafana....)
  • Hardware (Sensors, Protocols, Cameras...)
  • Integration of HW and data towards IT landscape (Ingest data, create function on data, integrate to systems)
  • Based on the needs,” hands on” and support fast progress, build solutions for first PoC, use for further integrations and implementations....
  • You have good knowledge of the automotive industry, and experience in strategy creation.
  • You like to work in teams and have possibility to work independently.
  • Good knowledge of Volvo IS/IT applications, automation, PLC and connectivity of equipment’s.
  • 3+ years of experience from manufacturing and/or Engineering
  • University Degree from relevant areas such as Engineering or relevant industrial experience.
