Job summary

Tekskills Inc. in Chennai is seeking a detail-oriented Manual Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of our applications. You will design test scenarios, execute test cases, and report defects with clear documentation.

We expect 1–3 years in manual functional testing, strong knowledge of SDLC/STLC, bug lifecycle, and experience with JIRA or Azure DevOps. Familiarity with SQL, Agile/Scrum, Postman, Selenium, and Git is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in manual functional testing.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC and bug lifecycle.
• Experience writing clear and concise test cases.
• Hands-on with defect tracking tools (JIRA, QC, etc.).
• Basic understanding of SQL queries for database testing.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.

Responsibilities

• Understand requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Execute test cases and ensure test coverage across the application.
• Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA or Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and QA leads to ensure timely bug resolution.
• Participate in test planning, review meetings, and sprint activities (Agile/Scrum).
• Perform sanity and smoke testing on new builds.
• Validate UI/UX alignment with requirements.
• Prepare test reports and maintain documentation.
• Ensure adherence to testing best practices and quality standards.
