Job Purpose

• Responsible for transport network (Optics/DWDM/IP-MPLS, etc.) operations and service experience, especially in Core & Agg locations.
• Transport network acceptance with architecture compliance and quality of installation; clearance of systemic deviations.
• Proactive planning to mitigate network risks due to environment or other factors.

Key Result Areas / Accountabilities

• Deliver the network and service KPIs for transport network; deliver service experience to Mobility and enterprise customers.
• Work closely with circle and central functions to meet uptime, fault KPI, performance KPI and change management KPI.
• Disaster recovery operations and situation-specific solutions to improve experience for voice and data services.
• Asset management and spare parts management.
• Preventive maintenance of the transport network to reduce outages, alarms, performance issues and equipment damage.
• Deliver NOC requirements and WFM compliance.
• Maintain NDD and physical connectivity details.
• Collaborate with OEMs, transport, Infrastructure, OSP teams & NOC to reduce MTTR.
• Improve network quality through optimization and rerouting.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

• 8-10 years of transport network experience in a service provider or OEM environment.
• Technical expertise in IP-MPLS/DWDM, OTN, MPLS-TP, Ethernet, SDH, etc.
• Understanding of mobility services such as 4G and VoLTE is desirable.
• Hands-on experience with tools and testers.
• Hands-on experience managing Huawei/ECI/Ciena/ZTE/Infinera/Tejas/Cisco/Juniper/Nokia devices in a multi-vendor architecture.
• Experience in equipment installation and infra maintenance.
• Extensive travelling; ability to work in a dynamic and matrix organization.

Must have technical / professional qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electronics/Computer Science.
• CCNA/JNCA/NRS-1.
