The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end compliance process for Weaver partner returns, supervise staff, and manage workflow across global teams. A CPA with 5+ years of experience and a strong background in federal tax matters is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA with 5+ years of federal tax compliance experience in a public firm.
• Experience reviewing Forms 1040, partnership and flow-through reporting, and supervising workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end partner tax compliance for Weaver partners.
• Oversee technical review and mentor associates and senior associates.
• Coordinate US-India workflow and monitor project status and deadlines.
• Support firm-level tax compliance activities and special projects.

Weaver is looking for talented tax manager to join our growing firm! The Internal Tax Operations team supports the tax-related activity of Weaver and its partners. This includes the firm’s partnership return, state and international tax compliance, and individual partner tax returns.

The tax manager will primarily support the tax compliance process for Weaver partners, including oversight of return preparation, technical review, and workflow management. This role will also assist with firm-level tax compliance activities and collaborate closely with U.S.-based tax professionals to ensure timely delivery and high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner Tax Compliance Leadership
  • Manage end-to-end tax compliance process for Weaver partner individual tax returns.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop associates and senior associates supporting the partner tax compliance process
  • Coordinate workflow between US teams and India-based tax professionals.
  • Monitor project status, budgets, workloads and deadlines to ensure timely delivery during busy season.
• Technical Review
  • Perform first-level technical review of complex federal and state individual income tax returns prepared by associates and senior associates.
  • Identify technical issues and provide guidance to team members regarding federal and state tax matters.
• Internal Tax Operations Support
  • Review reports, schedules, and supporting workpapers for the firm’s partnership, state, and other tax filings.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives related to Internal Tax Operations.
• Seasonal Client Service Support
  • During non-peak partner compliance periods, assist the Private Client Services teams serving high-net-worth individual clients.

To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA with 5+ years of experience in federal tax compliance, planning and consulting at a public accounting firm with a focus on high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, and closely held businesses
• Experience reviewing complex Forms 1040 returns, partnership and flow-through reporting, and supervising tax compliance workflows within a public accounting environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams

Additionally, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Master’s degree in accounting or related field
• Experience with multi-state tax compliance
• Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop staff
• Experience working with US-based public accounting firms in a global delivery environment
