Job summary

Assystem is seeking an experienced professional to lead 400 kV Substation (AIS/GIS) design and project execution in India. You will prepare and review deliverables, estimate man-hours, and ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards.

The role requires a BTech in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years in 400 kV projects, with strong SLD, switchyard layout, earthing and protection calculations, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in 400 kV substation design and project execution.
• Expertise in EHV Substation (AIS/GIS) and Switchyard primary engineering.
• Proficiency in IEC, IEEE, and national electrical standards.
• Strong skills in SLD preparation and switchyard layout design.
• Experience with earthing and lightning protection calculations.

• Support project execution, planning and issue resolution.

We are looking for an experienced professional to take on the following responsibilities:

• Prepare and review engineering deliverables and drawings with meticulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrate proven expertise in EHV Substation (AIS/GIS)/Switchyard Primary Engineering up to 400 kV, including SLD preparation, switchyard layout development and pre-bid engineering activities.
• Estimate engineering man-hours, material quantities and key project deliverables accurately.
• Develop Earthing and Lightning Protection System layouts and perform associated calculations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications and quality requirements throughout all project phases.
• Support project execution, planning and provide technical issue resolution as required.
• Bring mandatory experience in Substation/Switchyard projects up to 400 kV to drive project success.

• Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in 400 kV Substation design, engineering, and project execution
• Demonstrated expertise in EHV Substation (AIS/GIS) and Switchyard Primary Engineering design and deliverables
• Proficiency in relevant electrical codes, standards, and specifications (IEC, IEEE, national standards)
• Strong proficiency in engineering design software and MS Office applications
• Proven expertise in SLD preparation, switchyard layout design, and earthing/lightning protection system calculations
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams
• Demonstrated capability in project planning, estimation, and technical issue resolution
