Job summary

Tata AutoComp Systems Limited in Pune, India, seeks a Supplier Quality professional to drive development of supplier quality improvement roadmaps and APQP activities.

You will monitor supplier performance via scorecards, lead capability programs, and ensure readiness for mass production while aligning with IATF16949/ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in supplier quality management and process improvements.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead APQP activities and supplier readiness for mass production.

Responsibilities

• Develop supplier quality improvement roadmaps.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives at supplier locations.

• Identify gaps, track corrective actions, and ensure effective closure.
• Support supplier ESG and sustainability compliance initiatives where applicable.
• Lead investigation of supplier-related quality concerns using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone.

Supplier Development & Performance Improvement

• Develop supplier quality improvement roadmaps.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives at supplier locations.
• Monitor supplier performance through scorecards and periodic reviews.
• Lead supplier capability enhancement programs to improve quality and process maturity.

APQP & New Supplier Development

• Lead Supplier APQP activities for new projects and supplier onboarding.
• Review and approve PPAP documentation and production validation reports.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC records.
• Ensure supplier readiness before mass production.

Supplier Audits & Compliance

• Plan and conduct Supplier System Audits and Process Audits.
• Ensure supplier compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and customer-specific requirements.
• Identify gaps, track corrective actions, and ensure effective closure.
• Support supplier ESG and sustainability compliance initiatives where applicable.

Supplier Quality Issue Management

• Lead investigation of supplier-related quality concerns.
• Drive root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and Problem-Solving methodologies.
• Monitor implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
• Minimize line stoppages and customer complaints arising from supplier issues.

Cost Reduction & Risk Management

• Support supplier cost optimization initiatives through quality improvements.
• Reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), rejections, and warranty costs.
• Identify supplier risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Support localization and alternate source development projects.
