Job summary

Tata AutoComp is seeking a Supplier Quality Specialist in Pune to lead quality management across supplier base, ensure IATF16949 compliance, monitor performance and drive COPQ reductions. The role collaborates with sourcing, engineering and production to prevent defects and resolve issues.

You will oversee APQP, PPAP submissions, PFMEA, MSA/SPC, supplier audits, and continuous improvement initiatives at supplier locations, with a focus on achieving zero defect goals and timely quality issue

Job description

Role & responsibilities:

1. Supplier Quality Management

1. Establish and maintain supplier quality systems in line with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.

2. Monitor supplier quality performance through PPM, warranty claims, line rejections, and customer complaints.

3. Develop supplier quality scorecards and conduct periodic performance reviews.

4. Drive supplier quality improvement initiatives and support strategic sourcing decisions.

2. New Product Development & APQP

5. Lead supplier APQP activities for new product introduction.

6. Review and approve PPAP submissions, Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, and MSA/SPC studies.

7. Ensure supplier readiness before SOP (Start of Production).

8. Participate in design reviews and supplier feasibility assessments.

3. Supplier Audits & Development

9. Plan and conduct supplier process audits, system audits, and special audits.

10. Assess supplier compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.

11. Identify improvement opportunities and monitor closure of audit findings.

12. Develop suppliers through training, mentoring, and capability enhancement programs.

4. Supplier Issue Resolution

13. Lead containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation for supplier quality issues.

14. Drive 8D, Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone, and Problem-Solving methodologies.

15. Coordinate with suppliers for timely resolution of quality concerns.

16. Monitor effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.

5. Manufacturing & Customer Support

17. Support incoming quality control and manufacturing teams in resolving supplier-related concerns.

18. Coordinate with STA, Purchase, Production, Engineering, and Customer Quality teams.

19. Participate in customer audits and quality reviews.

20. Manage escalation of critical supplier quality issues.

6. Continuous Improvement

21. Drive Zero Defect and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) reduction initiatives.

22. Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and Six Sigma projects at supplier locations.

23. Promote defect prevention and process capability improvement.
