Job summary

Gujarat Fluorochemicals in Dahej, India, is seeking an experienced HSEF and Process Safety lead to drive safety programs and ensure ISO-aligned practices across the plant. You will champion PSM, develop and implement safety policies, and coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering and EHS teams to meet regulatory requirements.

The role requires leading PHA sessions, facilitating safety committees, and delivering ongoing training on process safety management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Draft and implement overall HSEF and process safety policies.

• Review annual strategy and take corrective actions.
• Formulate PSM core team and conduct training on PSM elements.
• Roll out PSM procedures and workplace safety procedures.
• Initiate regular safety observation rounds.

Role & responsibilities

• Ensuring all Workplace Safety programs, procedures, training, work practices and controls are effectively implemented.
• Ensure the plant equipment/Work Place is ISO certified and follows defined Health & safety norms.
• Coordination and engagement of all HSEF & Other Departmental personnel and other personnel in the identification, development and implementation of EHS goals which will positively impact and add value to the organization.
• Managing Workplace Safety processes to assure proper waste management and minimization practices in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Understand the Company HSEF and process safety standards and draft out and implement the overall HSEF and Process safety Policy
• Budget for HSEF and Process Safety improvements Monitor HSEF and Process safety action plans and review the same.
• Review Annual Strategy implementation and take corrective action.
• Formulation of PSM core team.
• Training on PSM elements.
• Periodic rollout of various PSM elements procedures.
• Regular training on PSM procedures, workplace safety procedures.
• Starting the Safety observations round scheme.

Preferred candidate profile

• Act as the Process Hazard Analysis team leader when appropriate
• Lead Process Safety Steering Committee meetings, including agenda development and scheduling and is able to lead/facilitate PHA meetings using various methodologies such as hazard operability study
• Communicate critical performance information to management relating to PSM deadlines
• Facilitate the flow of PSM information between operations, maintenance, engineering, and EHS
• Consult with employees on the conduct and development of process safety management program elements and ensures that employees have access to information required under the PSM regulations
• Develop schedules for Process Hazard Analysis revalidations, operator training, maintenance training, operating procedure certifications, and maintenance procedure certifications for each facility
