Job summary

ePropelled Inc. is seeking a Manager – Sourcing & Procurement in Chennai to lead end-to-end sourcing, supplier development, and logistics.

You will drive localization, cost reduction, and procurement excellence across global operations, collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Global Supply Chain teams. The role focuses on uninterrupted material availability, supplier performance, and compliance with ISO 9001:2015.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, SCM, Industrial Eng, Business Admin, Logistics or related.
  • MBA or Master's in SCM/Operations/Procurement/Logistics an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials.
  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop domestic and international suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations covering pricing, terms, contracts and delivery schedules.
  • Drive supplier localization, cost reduction, and supplier consolidation.
  • Develop long-term supplier partnerships to improve continuity and performance.
  • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews per ISO requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end P2P procurement activities.
  • Coordinate procurement with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Finance.
  • Monitor supplier delivery performance and lead times.
  • Manage imports/exports, freight coordination, and customs clearance.
  • Optimize transportation costs and delivery performance.
  • Develop new suppliers for growth and continuity.
  • Support value engineering and supplier development with engineering teams.
  • Ensure ISO 9001 and regulatory compliance in supply chain.

Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • MBA or Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Procurement, or Logistics will be an added advantage.
Years of Experience
  • 10–15 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Vendor Development, and Logistics.
  • Minimum 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Experience in procurement of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Motors, Controllers, UAV, Aerospace, Automotive, or Industrial products is preferred.
Position Summary
  • The Manager – Sourcing & Procurement is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, tactical purchasing, logistics, and procurement operations to support manufacturing and new product development.
  • The role focuses on ensuring uninterrupted material availability while achieving cost optimization, supplier performance, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • The Manager collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Global Supply Chain teams to ensure timely procurement and efficient supply chain operations.
  • This position plays a key role in driving localization, supplier development, cost reduction, and procurement excellence for ePropelled's global operations.
Job Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management (P2P)
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials.
  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop domestic and international suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations covering pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and delivery schedules.
  • Drive supplier localization, value engineering, supplier consolidation, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Develop long‑term supplier partnerships to improve supply continuity and business performance.
  • Conduct supplier audits, supplier performance reviews, and continuous improvement programs in line with ISO requirements.
2. Tactical Purchasing & Procurement Operations
  • Manage end-to-end Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) procurement activities.
  • Execute daily purchasing activities to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
  • Monitor supplier acknowledgements, purchase orders, and delivery commitments.
  • Expedite critical materials to support production schedules.
  • Coordinate procurement activities with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Finance teams.
  • Manage purchase requisitions, approvals, procurement documentation, and ERP transactions.
  • Monitor supplier delivery performance and improve procurement lead times.
3. Logistics & Supply Chain Management
  • Manage domestic and international inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, transporters, and warehouse partners.
  • Ensure import/export compliance and customs clearance activities.
  • Monitor shipment planning, tracking, and on‑time deliveries.
  • Optimize transportation costs while maintaining delivery performance.
4. Vendor Development & Cost Optimization
  • Develop new suppliers to support business growth and supply continuity.
  • Execute supplier benchmarking and market analysis.
  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities through localization, alternate sourcing, and process improvements.
  • Participate in new product sourcing and supplier selection activities.
  • Support engineering teams with value engineering initiatives.
5. Supplier Quality & Compliance
  • Work closely with Quality teams to ensure supplier compliance with quality standards.
  • Support supplier audits, corrective actions, and supplier development initiatives.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with ISO 9001, environmental, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier quality and delivery performance.
6. Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor sourcing, procurement, and logistics teams.
  • Define team objectives and monitor procurement KPIs.
  • Encourage cross‑functional collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee development through coaching and performance reviews.
7. Reporting and Performance Management
  • Prepare procurement dashboards and KPI reports.
  • Track cost savings, supplier performance, inventory, and procurement metrics.
  • Present sourcing updates, procurement risks, and mitigation plans to senior management.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and procurement planning activities.
8. Quality and Compliance
  • Ensure that all projects and supply chain activities adhere to Quality Management Systems ISO 9001:2015.
  • Collaborate with quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Ensuring the Product Quality meets the specifications.

  • Logistics Management - Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, transportation, warehousing, and delivery performance.
  • Contract Management - Prepare, review, administer, and monitor supplier contracts to ensure commercial and legal compliance.
  • Power BI - Develop interactive dashboards and reports to monitor procurement KPIs, supplier performance, and business insights.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel - Utilize advanced Excel functions, PivotTables, Power Query, and data analysis tools for procurement reporting and decision‑making.
