Job summary

NIKE Retail Services in Bengaluru seeks an experienced software engineering leader to build and guide high-performing teams in cloud-native, microservices-based platforms. You will drive capacity planning, sprint execution, and hands-on development while shaping architectural direction with Principal Engineers.

You will collaborate with product leaders, engineers, and business stakeholders across global time zones to deliver scalable digital platforms and secure, performant software solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent professional experience.
• Significant software engineering experience across full software lifecycle with practices, tools, and deliverables.
• Hands-on expertise with cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, APIs, domain-driven design, and microservices.
• Experience with AWS services including Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, and S3.
• Experience building modern web applications with React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Strong understanding of architectural and integration patterns, data movement, and enterprise security and privacy.
• Knowledge of open-source technologies and make-versus-buy decisions across workflow, orchestration, content management, and data platforms.
• Proven ability to collaborate with engineers, architects, product leaders, and business stakeholders across global time-zones.
• Experience working in Agile environments with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Experience implementing and integrating AI, machine learning, and related data solutions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead capacity planning and sprint execution with Product Managers, Project Managers, and Lead Engineers.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will be a part of the Global Technology organization working on Nike’s internal Consumer Product & Innovation software tools for enabling creation of Nike’s Footwear and Apparel and report to the team’s Engineering Director based in Bengaluru . You will work day-to-day managing a team of engineers, collaborating with the team’s Product Manager and Principal Engineers working on software projects to achieve Nike’s business objectives . You will also engage with other Global Technology functions and teams on organizational and technical goals.

• 10+ years of experience in technology and software engineering, grounded in strong computer science fundamentals
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent professional experience
• Significant software engineering experience across the full software lifecycle, including practices, tools, and deliverables
• Hands-on expertise with cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, APIs, domain-driven design, and microservices

• Strong communication and facilitation skills, with extensive experience partnering with business teams
