Job summary

Amiya Steel in India seeks an experienced Security Supervisor to oversee gate access, material movement, and plant security. You will supervise security personnel, implement access controls, and coordinate with HR, Stores, Logistics, and Operations to ensure safe and compliant operations.

The role requires vigilance against theft, pilferage, and unauthorized entry, plus incident reporting, CCTV monitoring, emergency drills, and liaison with authorities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control entry and exit of employees, contractors, visitors, and vehicles.
• Verify ID cards, visitor passes, gate passes, and authorization documents.
• Monitor movement of incoming and outgoing vehicles and materials.
• Maintain effective access control at critical and restricted areas.
• Coordinate with HR, Administration, Stores, Logistics, and Operations for access-related matters.
• Monitor CCTV surveillance and security systems across the plant.
• Manage security personnel deployment, shifts, attendance, and training.
• Handle security incidents including theft, pilferage, unauthorized entry, and alarms.
• Conduct periodic security risk assessments and maintain incident records.
• Coordinate with local authorities during emergencies and investigations.

Role & responsibilities

Gate & Access Control

• Monitor and control entry and exit of employees, contractors, visitors, and vehicles.
• Ensure proper verification of ID cards, visitor passes, gate passes, and authorization documents.
• Monitor movement of incoming and outgoing vehicles and materials.
• Ensure proper checking and recording of personnel and vehicle movement.
• Maintain effective access control at critical and restricted areas.
• Coordinate with HR, Administration, Stores, Logistics, and Operations for access-related matters.

Material & Asset Security

• Ensure security of raw materials, finished goods, stores, scrap, machinery, and other company assets.
• Monitor movement of materials through plant gates.
• Verify material gate passes and relevant documents before dispatch.
• Coordinate with Stores, Logistics, Dispatch, and Accounts for material movement control.
• Monitor truck movement and prevent unauthorized material removal and pilferage.
• Ensure proper security arrangements at warehouses, stockyards, scrap yards, and other sensitive locations.

CCTV & Security Systems

• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems across the plant.
• Ensure effective surveillance of gates, production areas, warehouses, stockyards, and other critical locations.
• Ensure proper functioning and recording of CCTV systems.
• Monitor access control, boom barriers, RFID, GPS, and other electronic security systems.
• Review CCTV footage during security incidents and investigations.
• Coordinate with IT/Maintenance for timely resolution of security-system issues.

Security Manpower Management

• Manage and supervise company and outsourced security personnel.
• Prepare security manpower deployment and shift schedules.
• Ensure proper deployment at all security posts and critical locations.
• Monitor attendance, discipline, turnout, and performance of security personnel.
• Conduct regular security briefings, training, and awareness programs.
• Evaluate outsourced security agencies and ensure compliance with agreed manpower and service requirements.

Incident Management & Investigation

• Handle security incidents including theft, pilferage, unauthorized entry, violence, damage, and suspected sabotage.
• Conduct preliminary investigation and prepare incident reports.
• Review CCTV footage and collect relevant information/evidence.
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain security incident records and monitor closure of reported cases.
• Coordinate with management, HR, Legal, and local authorities wherever required.

Emergency & Crisis Management

• Ensure security preparedness for fire, accidents, natural calamities, industrial disturbances, and other emergencies.
• Coordinate with EHS, Fire & Safety, Operations, and Administration during emergencies.
• Support emergency evacuation and crowd-control activities.
• Conduct periodic mock drills and security preparedness exercises.
• Ensure emergency access routes and critical areas remain clear.
• Maintain effective security response during crisis situations.

Liaison & External Coordination

• Maintain coordination with local Police, Fire Department, Government Authorities, and other external agencies.
• Coordinate with authorities during security incidents and emergencies.
• Maintain effective liaison with neighbouring communities where required.
• Support management in handling sensitive security and law-and-order matters.
• Maintain professional relationships with external security and government agencies.

MIS & Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly security reports.
• Prepare MIS relating to security incidents, manpower, vehicle movement, material movement, and security violations.
• Maintain records of theft, pilferage, unauthorized entry, and other security incidents.
• Submit security audit and inspection reports to management.
• Maintain security-related documentation for internal and external audits.

Coordination

• Coordinate with Plant Operations for day-to-day security requirements.
• Coordinate with HR and Administration regarding employees, contractors, and access control.
• Coordinate with Stores, Logistics, and Dispatch for material and vehicle movement.
• Coordinate with EHS/Fire & Safety during emergency situations.
• Coordinate with IT and Maintenance for CCTV and electronic security systems.
• Support Plant Management in all security-related matters.

Additional Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and applicable legal requirements.
• Conduct periodic security risk assessments and vulnerability reviews.
• Ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions arising from security audits.
• Support management during labour disputes, strikes, demonstrations, and other sensitive situations.
• Develop and review security SOPs and post orders.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.
