Job summary

Tata AutoComp is seeking to strengthen its supply chain and procurement functions with a focus on stamping, welding, and sheet metal components. The role emphasizes ensuring material readiness, supplier relationship management, and cost-competitive procurement aligned with production needs.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics, maintaining inventory levels, and driving continuous improvement through audits and KPI tracking.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of stamping, welding, and sheet metal components in line with production requirements.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials and purchased parts to avoid production disruptions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and annual cost reduction initiatives.
• Monitor supplier performance through KPIs such as quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics teams.
• Support production planning by ensuring material readiness against customer schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and implement replenishment strategies.
• Manage demand forecasting and material requirement planning (MRP).
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for automotive sheet metal, stamping, and welding components.
• Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments.
• Drive supplier improvement initiatives related to quality, cost, capacity, and delivery.
• Resolve supply chain issues and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize inventory levels while maintaining uninterrupted production.
• Monitor stock accuracy, inventory turnover, and obsolete inventory.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities.
• Ensure compliance with customer delivery requirements and JIT practices.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction through supplier consolidation, process improvements, and value engineering.
• Support localization and alternate sourcing initiatives.
• Analyze procurement spend and prepare cost-saving reports.
• Ensure purchased materials meet automotive quality standards.
• Coordinate with Quality teams for supplier quality improvement.
• Maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO standards, and customer-specific requirements.
