Job summary

Northern Trust in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a Senior Risk Analytics Lead to manage the day-to-day operations of the Risk Analytics team and drive key risk objectives.

You will oversee capital estimation, regulatory reporting, model development and validation, ensuring accuracy, quality and compliance across risk functions.

The role requires senior leadership, strong communication with regulators and governance committees, and the ability to lead strategic transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a risk analytics or risk measurement team.
  • Strong knowledge of risk concepts and quantitative modeling.
  • Familiarity with Basel II framework and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the Risk Analytics team.
  • Oversee risk measurement activities including capital estimation and regulatory reporting.
  • Direct model development, validation, and quantitative analytics ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Establish priorities, allocate resources, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Serve as primary contact for regulators, Audit Services, internal risk teams, and senior stakeholders on risk analytics matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional risk teams to ensure consistency in risk management policies, methodologies, and modeling approaches.
  • Ensure capital modeling and allocation frameworks meet business requirements and applicable regulatory expectations.
  • Lead strategic projects and transformation initiatives, partnering with project management teams to track progress and resolve issues.
  • Provide technical leadership, subject matter expertise, and guidance to team members and business partners on complex risk and analytics topics.
  • Manage talent development, performance management, staffing, and engagement activities while regularly presenting insights and recommendations to senior management and governance committees.

Major Duties:
  1. Lead and manage the day-to‑day operations of the Risk Analytics team, ensuring effective execution and delivery of key objectives.

  3. Direct model development, model validation, and quantitative analytics activities, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance.

  5. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators, Audit Services, internal risk teams, and senior stakeholders on risk analytics matters.

  7. Ensure capital modeling and allocation frameworks meet business requirements and applicable regulatory expectations.
  8. Lead strategic projects and transformation initiatives, partnering with project management teams to track progress and resolve issues.
  9. Provide technical leadership, subject matter expertise, and guidance to team members and business partners on complex risk and analytics topics.
  10. Manage talent development, performance management, staffing, and engagement activities while regularly presenting insights and recommendations to senior management and governance committees.
Knowledge:
  1. Leadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff.
  2. Strong conceptual and technical knowledge of risk concepts and quantitative modeling techniques.
  3. Prior leadership role in a risk measurement capacity. Strong communication skills. Understanding of technology solutions for risk measurement and the Basel II framework for risk.
Experience:

For internal applications - 36 months as Consultant Lead/Team Lead (currently M2)

  1. A college or university degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required.
  2. An advanced degree in a related field or equivalent career experience is preferred.
  3. 15+ years of relevant work experience with minimum 7 years of experience in leading team is required.
