Key responsibilities
  • New product development & value addition to existing products
  • Product re-engineering through ingredient solution for cost optimization
  • Conducting lab trials as well as online trials for new products
  • Coordinate with production, quality, purchase, marketing, sales departments for any new product launching
  • Drafting raw material and finished goods specification for new products
  • Revision of raw material and finished goods specification as and when required
  • Developing SOP/rules and ensuring their implementation
  • Shelf life study of various products
  • Provide regulatory inputs for regulatory compliance for all products for domestic as well as export market
  • Understand technical standards, FSSAI standards, CODEX Standards, Nutritional labeling etc.
  • Keep abreast of changes in regulations relating to all products including changes in standards labeling, Nutrition Labeling, additives and new additives, formulation clearances
  • Prepare scientific and technical background notes on issues related to ingredients, formulations, additives as required
  • Review formulations for the products for compliance with current approval lists and regulations and provide inputs for all proposed innovations
  • Review and approve artworks, back of pack labels and other printed materials related to all products including pack change proposals
  • Data mining and preparing crisp, science-based notes
  • Review claim support data and identify deficiencies for product claims
  • Should be comfortable working and tasting with non-veg products
Education

B Tech / MSc / M Tech (Food Tech/ Food Science)

Experience

B Tech / MSc / M Tech with 8 to 12 years; Experience in NPD / R&D of Frozen Foods, QSR, seasonings, breadcrumb manufacturing, culinary industry
