Lead cross-functional teams to develop new products, including design development, prototyping, testing, and production planning.
Conduct DFMEA studies to identify potential failures in product designs and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues through VAVE processes.
Develop APQP plans for new projects and manage them throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with CAE standards by conducting finite element analysis (FEA) simulations.
Ensure compliance with GD&T standards during design process.
Desired Candidate Profile
Masters or Bachelors degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in Automotive Environment with Steering or other proprietary system suppliers and manufacturers.
10 to 15 years of experience in steering column design, mechanical design, or a related role in the automotive industry.
Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA - preferred), Parametric, Macro are added advantages.
Knowledge of automotive materials and manufacturing processes (e.g., Die casting, Sheetmetal, Tube Forming, Hot Forging, Cold Forging, Drawing, Machining, etc.).
Familiarity with DFMEA, DFMA, and Problem-Solving methodologies (QC Tools, 8D, etc.).
Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and NVH principles.
MATLAB, Python coding is an added advantage.
Hands-on experience in any PLM software (3D Experience is an added advantage).
Skills and Competencies:

Analytical and Problem-Solving: Experience with root cause analysis, durability testing, and design optimization.
