Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a senior design leader to mentor 3–5 designers and drive the UX vision for a platform serving enterprise productivity and analytics. You will collaborate with product management, research, engineering and content to define roadmaps and translate complex problems into actionable design goals.

You will champion design systems, foster a user-centric culture, and communicate the product vision across global teams while traveling up to 20% of the year.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience managing people and/or leading design teams.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in UX Design and/or Interaction Design field.
• Experience with enterprise product spaces and design tools such as Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, Axure, Framer or Principle.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience creating content and/or designing with WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA guidelines is a plus.

Job Description

What you get to do in this role:

• Directly manage, mentor and develop 3–5 designers
• Drive the UX vision and execution of a platform that produces a product line to revolutionize workplace productivity and analytics solutions for some of the largest companies in the world
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, user research, engineering and content fromstrategicdefinition, planning, architecture, through tactical execution of the product roadmaps
• Distill complex problems into clear goals and requirements for the design and research team
• Understand the company's Design Systems, encourage their application, and contribute to their further development and maintenance.
• Drive the growth of user-centric, collaborative culture across the Business Unit
• Evangelize design strategy and product vision across theglobal, distributed design teams
• Assist in conducting user needs assessment, task analysis and develop user profiles; identify key tasks for user research, competitive analysis and user testing, develop usability plans.
• Develop high level task flow content and then use storyboards and other design documents to communicate concepts and vision to others.
• Lead your team through rapid iterations of theoretical task scenarios, navigation map, flow, and state-transition diagrams to document design decisions.
• Oversee your team's work: detailed mockups and prototypes and behaviour specifications.
• Oversee UI layouts including controls, labels and graphical elements for software on both mobile and desktop platforms with an eye towards experience unification.
• Participate in documentation development process such as user experience specifications, testing and evaluation.
• Work closely with product management in UX ideation and innovation.
• Travel up to 20% of the year

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing people and/or leading design teams
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in UX Design and/or Interaction Design field
• Passion to grow and mentor people
• Strong skills in Information Architecture
• A portfolio of work samples representing your work and approach
• Expertise in one or more of the following enterprise product spaces: IT Security Management, IT Operations Management, Security Operations, HR Service Delivery, Customer Service Management (CSM), or Finance & Legal
• Expert with Sketch, Invision, Photoshop, or other design tools
• Ability to do rapid prototyping in Axure, Keynote, Framer, Principle or similar tools
• Ability to understand and distill complex problems into clean solutions
• Must have strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Must have excellent teamwork, communication, and technical problem-solving skills to contribute within a multi-functionaland multi-disciplined team
• Obsessed with the relentless pursuit of UX perfection working inside an iterative and agile development environment
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a fluid, fast-paced and truly agile environment
• Expected to demonstrate a high level of initiative, good sense of humor, and a “make it work” ethos
• Experience in creating content and/or designing with compliance to WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA guidelines is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of web design technologies (HTML, CSS)
• Experience working in an agile or incremental manner
• Experience working with tools such as ServiceNow, Miro, or Abstract
