Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
- Root Cause Analysis: Identify and investigate root causes for powertrain components in Powertrain ( Engine, Transmission and Axles).
- Analyse and troubleshoot issues related to sensors and switches, including:
- Engine sensors: Mass Airflow (MAF), Oxygen (O2), Crankshaft Position, Throttle Position Sensors, Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch etc.
- Transmission sensors: Gear Selector Position Sensor, Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), Neutral Sensor, etc.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and monitor metrics such as R/1000 (repairs per 1000 vehicles) and CPU (Cost per Unit) to ensure vehicle-level targets are met.
- Knowledge Sharing: Document lessons learned from existing product families and share insights with the platform teams (COE, CDMM, etc.).
- Provide inputs for new product development to prevent recurrence of known issues.
- Supplier Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration with global and local suppliers to enhance manufacturing processes.
- Drive efforts to improve product reliability and durability.
Experience
10 - 15 years experience in automotive Powertrain division
Industry Preferred
Automotive - Powertrain (Engine and Transmission ) manufacturers
Qualifications
BE/B tech Electronics Engineering

- Proficient in troubleshooting issues related to sensors, switches, and wiring harnesses.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electronic components and adherence to the latest industry standards.
- Familiarity with failure analysis, diagnostic methods, and quality improvement tools such as Six Sigma and QC Story.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Personal Strengths: Exceptional decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
- Highly analytical with a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
