The role will partner with the P&C Operations Lead, Finance, Legal and other stakeholders to maintain efficient, well-controlled and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management Own the end-to-end monthly payroll cycle, ensuring timely completion and effective coordination across internal teams and service providers. Ensure accurate and timely processing of salaries and other payroll components. Validate payroll inputs, reconciliations and exceptions—including employee lifecycle changes, attendance, leave, overtime, unpaid absence and variable payments—before payroll closure. Ensure appropriate maker-checker controls throughout the payroll process. Coordinate timely Full & Final settlements for separated employees. Review payroll reports and ensure payroll records and supporting documentation are maintained appropriately.

Statutory & Labour Compliance Ensure payroll and P&C operations (like working hours, overtime, leave, holidays and other employment conditions etc.) comply with applicable employment laws, statutory requirements and filing obligations. Monitor regulatory developments, assess their impact on payroll, policies and processes, and coordinate required changes with relevant stakeholders. Ensure the maintenance of appropriate statutory registers and records. Support establishment-related registrations, renewals and compliance requirements, as applicable.

Governance, Controls & Audit Establish and maintain strong internal controls across payroll and compliance processes. Conduct periodic reviews to identify compliance gaps. Maintain payroll and compliance SOPs, checklists and process documentation. Serve as the P&C point of contact for internal, external and statutory audits, coordinating responses and timely closure of observations. Maintain an audit-ready repository of payroll and compliance documentation. Identify opportunities to reduce manual intervention and strengthen process controls.

HR Systems, Data and Analytics Maintain accurate employee and payroll data across HRIS with appropriate confidentiality and access controls, attendance and payroll systems; review payroll-impacting configurations; and monitor payroll accuracy, exceptions and trends to support timely corrective action. Provide concise governance reporting on data quality, system exceptions and key payroll-impacting trends. Drive automation and process improvements across HR systems and data processes to reduce manual intervention and operational risk.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders on payroll and compliance matters. Manage relationships with payroll vendors, consultants and statutory service providers. Provide guidance to employees and managers on payroll-related policies and processes. Escalate significant compliance risks, control failures or recurring process issues.

Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet critical monthly deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications & Experience
