Job description

Role & Responsibilities

1. Manage inventory, warehouse, transportation, and other logistics processes.
2. Develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce costs.
3. Accountable for procuring all required items by team in a timely manner and ensure availability of stock/buffer, despite challenges (like shortage in supply, rejected consignment and manages procurement through back-up vendors/ relationship with vendors etc.)
4. Build strong networking in the industry to ensure working with the best vendors and getting optimum benefit through relationship management.
5. Responsible for end-to-end vendor management, share feedback on delivery, quality of consignment with vendor and take necessary actions where needed, maintains overall vendor relationships.
6. Follow-up with the vendors in case of delay in delivery/ stock replacement etc.
7. Review and propose ideal logistics routes pan India for movement of specimen to maintain lowest TAT for increasing business efficiency and offerings.
8. Resolve internal and external audit queries and ensure all details are ready for audit as per prescribed standards.
9. Conduct audits for non-moving stocks, expired/near-expired items and take necessary actions, updating Finance about any specific excess/shortage of stock.
10. Control freight being sent by express and air mode and optimize their freight spend.
11. Identify areas where new projects need to be undertaken for facility creation or expansion of current facility.
12. Track and monitor cold chain shipments and make decisions in case of any delay to ensure that shipments reach CFAs in time and in the right condition.
13. Review schedules for delivery of consignments to the warehouse and monitor deviations (if any), including reviewing transit delay reports.
14. Ensure that all licenses and AMCs are in place.
15. Interface with statutory bodies such as Drug Control Authorities, Sales Tax Commissioner, Labor Enforcement Authority, and Trade Associations.
16. Ensure that cold chain shipments are transported as per label requirements.
17. Ensure all project work is done with safety precautions.

Person Specifications:

1. Bachelor's or Post Graduate degree in Supply Chain Management / Operations / Logistics.
2. 12 - 15 years of experience working in Logistics, SCM operations.
3. Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles.
4. Excellent negotiation skills.
5. Good understanding of city geography and TAT.
6. A strong team leader.
7. Ability to manage, coach, and provide training to team members.
8. Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
9. Working knowledge of logistics and inventory software.
