Job summary

Cashfree Payments seeks an experienced Legal professional to support contracts, product reviews, regulatory matters, and business advisory. You will draft and negotiate complex agreements, assess regulatory risks, and assist with fintech product launches.

The ideal candidate will have 7–10 years of post-qualification experience in payments or B2B fintech, strong contract lifecycle expertise, and proficiency in privacy regulations including DPDP Act 2023.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to accelerate company strategy.
• Draft, negotiate and advise on complex agreements, templates and forms including payment aggregation, banking, referral, technology and vendor contracts.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver contractual and advisory matters.
• Advise on regulatory developments in payments, privacy, and AI governance.
• Coordinate engagements with external firms and consultants.
• Provide strategic legal guidance to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement policy improvements.

Job description

We are looking for a Legal professional to provide legal support across contracts, product reviews, regulatory matters, and business advisory. The role will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to draft and negotiate agreements, assess legal and regulatory risks, and support the launch of new fintech products. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in contract lifecycle management, legal research, banking laws and fintech regulations, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do:

• Provide legal support to accelerate and support company strategy.
• Draft, negotiate and advise on complex agreements, templates and forms including payment aggregation agreements, banking agreements, referral agreements, technology contracts and vendor contracts.
• Co-ordinate with internal and external stakeholders as required to achieve end to deliver, manage and support contractual and advisory matters.
• Provide advisory and support to internal stakeholders on regulatory developments in the payments industry including cross border transactions, privacy regulations and AI governance.
• Co-ordinate and manage engagements with external firms and consultants;
• Provide strategic advice to stakeholders at various levels of the organisation on relevant subjects to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement processes and policy improvements.
• Maintain and increase awareness about existing & proposed regulatory requirements along with industry best practices.
• Review existing / new products and mitigate legal risk.

What You Will Need:

• 7-10 years of post-qualification experience in the Payments or B2B Fintech industry.
• Strong experience in end-to-end contract lifecycle management.
• Experience in implementing and managing data privacy programs and ensuring compliance with privacy obligations under DPDP Act, 2023 and under sectoral (banking / payments) regulations is preferred.
• Keen understanding of legal and regulatory developments within payments and /or fintech industry including emerging fintech products and business models.
• Hands-on experience in end-to-end legal and product reviews.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong execution and ownership skills, with the ability to independently drive tasks to closure.
• Excellent communication and legal drafting skills in English.
• Strong foundation in legal research, interpretation, and analysis.
• Good knowledge and practical experience in banking laws and fintech-related regulations.
• Proficiency in use of AI tools for contract reviews,
