Job summary

Inventia Healthcare Limited, with manufacturing and R&D in Maharashtra, is seeking a Patent Management professional to handle strategic IP work including patent analysis, FTO reviews, and filing activities. The role interacts with Patent Offices and external attorneys to manage filings and office actions.

Responsibilities include monitoring patents, preparing filings, and coordinating with R&D for patent design-arounds, ensuring timely updates to leadership and alignment with global IP strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience in patent management and intellectual property processes.
• Familiarity with Freedom-to-Operate reviews and patent strategy.
• Knowledge of patent filing procedures and engagement with patent offices.

Responsibilities

• Collates information from patent and non-patent literature for designated products and markets.
• Reviews Freedom-to-operate and strategy reports by the team.
• Monitors patents, updates reports, and informs the Department Head for action.
• Conducts searches to determine patentability of products.
• Prepares documents for drafting and filing of patent applications in specified countries.
• Drafts responses to office actions or queries from patent offices or clients.
• Communicates with Patent Attorneys and Patent Offices regarding opinions and filings.
• Coordinates costs for patent filing strategies and liaises with Finance for approvals.
• Supports litigation matters including invalidity searches and discovery review.
• Identifies new product opportunities for development planning.
• Reviews case laws and provides summaries/presentations to the team.
• Liaises with R&D for patent design-around and filing strategies.
• Monitors projects and provides periodic updates to the Department Head.

Job description

Inventia is into pharmaceutical development and manufacturing from last 40 yrs. We partner with pharma companies to research, develop, manufacture and distribute OSD. Our Manufacturing plant is in Ambernath which produces range of OSD including capsules, tablets, Granules and Pellets. We are there in 45 countries and have 10 plus facility approvals including US EU.

Key Responsiblities :

PATENT MANAGEMENT

• Collates information from patent and non-patent literature for designated products for the specified markets, and reviews research information collected by team
• Reviews the Freedom-to-operate Reports and Strategy Reports by team
• Periodically monitors patents, updates report and apprises Department Head for required action
• Carries out extensive search for patent and non-patent literature for designated products to determine patentability of products
• Conducts a preliminary evaluation of the patent and non-patent literature and formulation strategy for patentability
• Prepares documents for drafting, and filing of patent/patent application in specified countries
• Prepares draft responses to office actions or queries raised from patent offices, clients or from within the department
• Communicates with Patent Attorney and Patent Office for matters pertaining to patent opinions, notice letters and patent application filings/prosecution
• Conducts cost estimates for patent filing strategies and coordinates with Finance for approval of the required fee for patents
• Providing support in litigation matters including conducting invalidity searches, support in discovery and review of related documents
• Conduct labeling carve out /PIL review
• To identify new product opportunity for inclusion into the development grid
• Searches and reviews relevant case laws and provides summary / presentation to the team

OPERATIONAL

• Liaisons with the Research & Development function for development of patent design-around and patent filing strategies
• Coordinates with the Research & Development function for periodic evaluation of projects under consideration
• Coordinates with third parties to obtain information and data for effective freedom-to-operate evaluation
• Periodically monitors patents, updates report and apprises Department Head for required action
• Prepares regular updates/ MIS reports and provides to the Department Head
• Keeps updated with the current IPR laws and Regulations of the various countries
• Manages the maintenance of patents and databases, including renewals and statutory requirements
