Amazon Business is looking for an experienced ML Data Ops Manager to lead and optimize our machine learning data operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our ML data operations and help us build world-class AI/ML solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Data Operations Management:
    • Lead ML data workflows and ground truth generation processes
    • Oversee annotation tasks and data collection procedures
    • Act as point of contact for ML data process areas
    • Manage time-sensitive tasks with limited documentation
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Manage and mentor a team of ML data professionals
    • Conduct performance evaluations and support career growth
    • Facilitate hiring and onboarding of new team members
    • Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment
  • Process Optimization:
    • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance tools and workflows
    • Conduct periodic audits of existing processes and SOPs
    • Drive standardization across ML data workflows
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure adherence to quality standards in data collection and annotation
    • Perform root cause analysis on quality issues
    • Implement proactive measures to reduce errors
  • Project Management:
    • Own small to medium-scale project deliverables
    • Estimate task completion timelines considering ML data complexities
    • Manage team workload and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Communicate with internal stakeholders and partner teams
    • Provide insights and recommendations to improve ML data quality
    • Present decisions and updates to senior leadership
About the team

ABDAI serves as the central Data Platform and Science team across Amazon Business. We pursue foundational problems in analytics, engineering, data privacy, and sciences, while also using the capabilities we built to deliver value across the analytics spectrum.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in program or project management
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Experience leading process improvements
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent
  • Decision making aptitudes based on given guidelines and in ambiguous context
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team, including adherence to core values and dynamic corporate culture
  • Ability to work under a dynamic work environment and meet performance goals
  • Strong attention to detail, solid work ethic and drive, ability to manage large and complex rule sets, and excellent communication and follow-up skills
