Nordex Group is seeking an experienced Manager - Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) for a factory-based role in Tiruvallur. The candidate will lead HSE systems, ensure compliance with the Factories Act and corporate standards, and drive a strong safety culture across the facility.

The ideal candidate has 12–15 years of experience in industrial safety, with M.E./M.Tech in Industrial Safety and relevant certifications being a strong plus.

Qualifications

  • M.E./M.Tech in Industrial Safety required; Tamilnadu Factories Rules compliance.
  • NEBOSH and ISO lead auditor certifications are a plus.
  • Experience 12–15 years in HSE management within manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Factories Act and internal EHS requirements.
  • Lead risk assessments (HIRA, JSA, SFMEA) and safety programs.
  • Conduct incident investigations using Root Cause Analysis.
  • Drive Behavior Based Safety and contractor safety management.
  • Maintain licenses, permits, and statutory certifications.
  • Develop and implement SOPs, emergency plans and audits.
  • Coordinate audits and EHS reporting.

Manager - Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Location: Tiruvallur (Factory Based Role)

Experience: 12-15 Years

Qualification
  • M.E/M.Tech in Industrial Safety(approved as per Tamilnadu Factories Rules)
  • Additional certifications such as NEBOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor will be an added advantage.

Job Purpose: To lead and drive Health, Safety & Environmental management systems across the manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, corporate standards, and industry best practices while fostering a strong safety culture and supporting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Safety Management
  • Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, statutory regulations, and internal EHS requirements.
  • Lead HIRA, JSA, Risk Assessments, SFMEA, and other risk management activities.
  • Conduct incident, accident, and near‑miss investigations using Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • Drive implementation of Behavior Based Safety (BBS) and proactive safety programs.
  • Monitor contractor safety management and Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and workplace assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures, SOPs, and emergency response plans.
Statutory & Compliance Management
  • Liaise with government authorities such as DISH, TNPCB, Fire Department, PESO, Electrical Inspectorate, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure timely renewal of licenses, approvals, permits, and statutory certifications.
  • Maintain all statutory registers, records, and compliance documentation.
  • Support audits and inspections by external agencies and regulatory authorities.
Environmental Management
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 requirements and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor waste management, hazardous waste disposal, air emissions, water consumption, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Drive environmental improvement projects and resource conservation programs.
Occupational Health & Emergency Preparedness
  • Coordinate occupational health surveillance and periodic medical examinations.
  • Conduct emergency preparedness programs and mock drills.
  • Manage fire protection systems, first aid facilities, and emergency response teams.
  • Promote industrial hygiene and employee wellness initiatives.
Management Systems & Audits
  • Maintain and improve ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Integrated Management Systems.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits and facilitate external certification audits.
  • Track audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present EHS performance reports and management review data.
Training & Culture Building
  • Design and deliver EHS training programs, inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
  • Conduct contractor and visitor safety training.
  • Lead Safety Committee meetings and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement and strengthen safety culture across the facility
