Job summary

iTeach Schools is seeking a Growth & Expansion Manager to lead end-to-end expansion across Municipal Corporations in Maharashtra and beyond. Based in Mumbai, you will drive strategy, secure partnerships, and oversee a team to convert growth intent into new schools.

You will liaise with government stakeholders, draft proposals, manage tenders, and guide associates to ensure regulatory compliance and successful implementation. Strong policy insight and Marathi-English fluency are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in the social sector or public-facing roles, with at least 2 years managing people.
• Exposure to government relations or public policy.
• Track record of building relationships with senior stakeholders in bureaucratic environments.
• Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills; capable of tender writing and pitching to Municipal Commissioners.
• Languages: Marathi and English, reading, writing and speaking.

Role Summary

iTeach is at an inflection point. In 2025, we set out to more than double our reach — from 4,500 to 10,000+ students — by opening 10-12 new schools over the next 5 years. That's a decade of growth in half the time, powered by strong municipal demand, solid funding, and a deep talent pipeline.

The Growth & Expansion Manager will drive that growth end to end: representing iTeach with government at every level, building the strategy for where we go next, and carrying each new Municipal Corporation from first conversation to a signed partnership. This role owns the machinery that turns growth intent into schools on the ground.

Major Responsibilities

A: Expansion — Strategy and Execution

• Build and drive iTeach's 3-year expansion strategy across Municipal Corporations in Maharashtra and beyond, translating our 2030 growth goals into a concrete roadmap.
• Own the full expansion pipeline end to end — proposal drafting, pitching, tender release and management, through to final work order award.
• Lead on-ground landscape studies with our government partnerships associates to scope space, infrastructure, and educational gaps, and identify the best-fit opportunities for iTeach.
• Design and implement strategies to secure government funding to support new and existing schools.

B: Government Liaisoning and Compliance

• Build and hold relationships with administrative and political decision-makers across 8-10 Municipal Corporations, championing iTeach's mission at every level of government.
• Manage the Government Relations Associates to keep all iTeach schools compliant with government regulations and law.
• Maintain iTeach's standing as the Municipal Corporations' most trusted non-profit school operator.

C: Team and Planning

• Set the annual implementation plan for the expansion vertical, including budget requirements.
• Manage and coach the Government Relations Associates supporting expansion work in each Municipal Corporation.

Qualifications and Competencies

• 4+ years in the social sector or public-facing roles, with at least 2 years managing people, ideally with exposure to government relations or public policy.
• A track record of building relationships with senior stakeholders and moving decisions forward in bureaucratic, often slow-moving environments.
• Comfort owning ambiguity — this is a build-as-you-go role inside a fast-growing organization.
• Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills; equally sharp writing a tender response and pitching a Municipal Commissioner.
• Preferred Languages: Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Marathi and English.

Location

• Based in Mumbai. Willing to travel across Greater Mumbai, Mumbai, Pune and other Municipal Corporations in Maharashtra and beyond — as our footprint grows.

The salary range for this position ranges from 9.5 - 11 LPA CTC, and we are dedicated to providing top-notch industry benefits.
