Job summary

Jobtailor in Mumbai seeks a senior fund accounting leader to oversee delivery of NAVs, management accounts, and investor reporting for a portfolio of investment funds.

You will sign off on deliverables, ensure IFRS and US GAAP compliance, guide offshore teams, and drive process improvements while liaising with auditors and clients.

Qualified accountant or MBA with 7+ years in fund accounting and private equity experience preferred; Geneva knowledge a plus.

Job description

• Oversee the delivery of fund accounting services for a portfolio of investment funds
• Maintain overall responsibility for accurate and timely delivery of NAVs, management accounts, investor reporting, and statutory financial statements
• Review and sign off on key deliverables prepared by the senior fund accountants / assistant managers
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP) and regulatory requirements
• Oversee day-to-day fund accounting activities performed by India team
• Set clear expectations, timelines, and quality standards and client deliverables
• Review error logs, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives with India teams
• Provide technical guidance, feedback, and training to India team preparers and reviewers
• Act as the primary contact for CSC and clients on fund accounting matters
• Proactively manage client expectations regarding timelines, deliverables, and issues
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, depositaries, and other service providers

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CA or equivalent) or MBA
• 7+ years of experience in fund accounting- private equity
• Strong experience in fund accounting within a fund administration environment
• Proven experience managing offshore or outsourced accounting teams
• Solid knowledge of alternative investment funds (Private Equity, Real Estate, Hedge Funds)
• Knowledge in Geneva will be an added advantage
