Job summary

Adani Power Ltd. is seeking a senior Fire & Safety professional to manage the operation, maintenance, and reliability of fire protection systems across a large power plant.

You will lead inspections, audits, and the implementation of fire prevention strategies throughout CHP, Boiler, Turbine, electrical, and fuel storage areas. The role requires 10-15 years of experience in fire and safety within heavy industries, with strong regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and incident investigation

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Fire Engineering / Safety Engineering / Mechanical Engineering required.
• Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety, Fire & Safety Management, or equivalent qualification.
• 10-15 years of experience in Fire & Safety functions within heavy industries or large manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic inspections, testing, and audits of fire protection systems.
• Develop and implement fire prevention strategies across plant areas such as CHP, Boiler, Turbine, Electrical Systems, Fuel Storage Areas, and Auxiliary Facilities.

• Lead site safety policies, risk assessments, and compliance audits.
• Develop On-Site Emergency Plans and Disaster Management Plans; lead emergency response during incidents.

• Ensure effective operation, maintenance, and reliability of all fire protection systems including hydrant networks, fire pumps, sprinkler systems, deluge systems, fire alarm systems, gas suppression systems, and firefighting equipment.
• Conduct periodic inspections, testing, and audits of fire protection systems and firefighting appliances.
• Develop and implement fire prevention strategies across plant areas such as CHP, Boiler, Turbine, Electrical Systems, Fuel Storage Areas, and Auxiliary Facilities.

Fire Protection & Prevention

• Ensure effective operation, maintenance, and reliability of all fire protection systems including hydrant networks, fire pumps, sprinkler systems, deluge systems, fire alarm systems, gas suppression systems, and firefighting equipment.
• Conduct periodic inspections, testing, and audits of fire protection systems and firefighting appliances.
• Develop and implement fire prevention strategies across plant areas such as CHP, Boiler, Turbine, Electrical Systems, Fuel Storage Areas, and Auxiliary Facilities.
• Identify fire hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

Safety Management

• Implement and monitor site safety policies, procedures, and standards in line with statutory and organizational requirements.
• Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, HIRA/JSA, and compliance audits.
• Ensure adherence to Permit-to-Work (PTW), LOTO, Work at Height, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, and Electrical Safety procedures.
• Track and close safety observations, incidents, and non‑compliances.

Emergency Response & Incident Management

• Develop and maintain On-Site Emergency Plans and Disaster Management Plans.
• Lead emergency response teams during plant emergencies and fire incidents.
• Conduct mock drills, emergency evacuation exercises, and firefighting demonstrations regularly.
• Investigate fire incidents, near misses, and safety violations and implement corrective actions.

Statutory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Factory Act, National Building Code (NBC), PESO Guidelines, Indian Electricity Rules, State Fire Department requirements, and other applicable regulations.
• Liaise with statutory authorities, fire departments, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
• Facilitate statutory inspections and ensure timely closure of observations.

Training & Awareness

• Conduct fire and safety training programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Organize awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, safety inductions, and behavior-based safety initiatives.
• Build emergency response capability across departments.

Contractor Safety Management

• Monitor contractor safety performance at project and operational sites.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements during shutdown, maintenance, and project execution activities.
• Conduct contractor safety audits and review compliance regularly.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare MIS reports, safety statistics, compliance reports, and management presentations.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, firefighting equipment, training programs, audits, and incident investigations.
• Analyze safety KPIs and recommend improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Full‑Time B.E./B.Tech in Fire Engineering / Safety Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
• Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety, Fire & Safety Management, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute.
• 10-15 years of experience in Fire & Safety functions within Thermal Power Plants, Heavy Industries, Petrochemical, Steel, Cement, or Large Manufacturing Facilities.
