Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy invites an electrical design engineer to join our team in India. You will prepare primary design drawings including Overall SLD and PSLD, OEL layouts for AIS and GIS substations, earthing layouts, cable schedules, and related BOMs.

You will ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE/IS standards, perform sizing calculations, coordinate with civil, BIM, and protection teams, and contribute to bids, reviews, and client discussions.

Qualifications

• BE in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience with SLD/PSLD and substation layouts is expected.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, IS standards and CBIP preferred.
• Ability to coordinate with secondary design, civil, BIM and protection teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare primary design drawings including Overall SLD and PSLD.
• Develop and review substation grounding design calculations and layouts.
• Create OEL arrangements for AIS and GIS substations.
• Perform cable sizing, routing layouts and BOM details.
• Carry out short circuit, CT/VT sizing, and protection coordination.

Roles & Responsibility

• Prepare primary design drawings including:
• Overall SLD and PSLD.
• Single Line diagram LVAC & DC Distribution System.
• General Overall Equipment Layout (OEL) arrangement for AIS and GIS Substation.
• ERT layout.
• Indoor and Outdoor Equipment layout plans and Sectional views.
• Equipment foundation layout.
• All type of Cable sizing and routing layout diagrams
• Earthing mat sizing calculation and layout with BOM details.
• DSLP calculation for indoor and outdoor with layout and BOM.
• Battery bank, Charger and UPS sizing calculation.
• Busbar calculations and drawings.
• Cable schedule and termination schedule with BOM of Glands and lugs.
• Short circuit force calculation and stringing chart as per IEC standard,
• CT/VT Sizing Calculation.
• Indoor, Outdoor and Road Lighting calculation and circuit diagram & layout.
• HV equipment connection and interconnection details, (EKD) erection Key diagram.
• Conduct equipment sizing and selection (circuit breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs, surge arresters, DG set, Auxiliary Transformer, NGR, etc.)
• Perform clearance studies (electrical & mechanical) as per IS/IEC/IEEE standards.
• Develop and review substation grounding (earthing) design calculation and layout.
• Support the preparation of bill of quantities (BOQ) and material specifications
• Ensure designs are compliant with relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, IS, CBIP, etc.)
• Coordinate with secondary design, civil, Structural, Architecture, BIM, Mechanical, Fire protection, Firefighting, CCTV surveillance and protection teams for interface clarity.
• Support proposal and estimation teams during bidding stages with design input
• Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and technical discussions.
