Responsibilities

• Design using Finite Element simulation/modeling.
• Develop customized product as per customer specifications.
• Take responsibility for manufacturing costs and deadlines.
• Standardize design rules and improve engineering processes.
• Analyze Test Bed and Site Failures of Transformer Bushing.
• Lead the engineering team in root cause investigations.
• Compile and analyze performance indicators for the E&D department.

Education

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Specialization in High Voltage Engineering is preferred.

Experience Required

12-20 Years

• Design and develop High voltage and High current transformer Bushings using Finite Element simulation/modeling (Dielectric, Thermal, and Mechanical) and computing programs
• Study and understand Customer/tendering specifications and develop customized product
• Take overall responsibility for manufacturing costs and comply with deadlines of product development and manufacturing by closely working with all departments involved in the process
• Standardize existing design rules and improve existing internal engineering processes
• Improve efficiency and effectiveness of Technical bids and Proposals
• Review and document the technical feasibility of product manufacturing, including risk assessment (FMEA) and cost-benefit analysis
• Analysis of Test Bed and Site Failures of Transformer Bushing
• Lead the engineering team in investigating root causes of problems or site failures (using FMEA methodology, QC tools, etc.), developing solutions, and preparing related recommendations and reports
• Data compilation, analysis, and presenting monthly E&D dept. performance indicators like new product presentations and other MIS for Efficiency and effectiveness monitoring of E&D

Qualifications

• Well-versed with all Electrical & Mechanical Design Aspects of Transformer Bushings and applicable IEC/IEEE/IS standards.
• Proficient in the use of ERP system, Microsoft Office, FEM tools & exposure to AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Team spirit and willingness to take initiative, Leadership.
• Excellent command of communication (oral and written) while dealing with colleagues, National and International Customers.
