Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of SREs, ensuring alignment with the broader objectives of GFKnewron
• Strategic Alignment: Set strategic goals for SRE activities that are in line with GFK's vision and objectives
• High Availability Assurance: Oversee the implementation of strategies to ensure high availability and reliability of cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support team development to enhance skills and efficiency
• Collaboration: Foster collaboration between SRE teams and other departments such as product and engineering to align infrastructure solutions with business needs
• Automation Strategy: Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and automation strategies using GitOps practices and tools like Flux
• Resource Management: Manage the budget and resources allocated for SRE initiatives, ensuring optimal use and allocation
• Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to security protocols and best practices within the SRE team

Qualifications

• Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps roles, with a track record of managing teams effectively
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably GCP), Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and GitOps tools such as Flux
• Monitoring Proficiency: Experience with cloud infrastructure monitoring using tools like Prometheus and Grafana
• Budget Management: Skills in budget management and resource optimization to support SRE initiatives
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to lead teams effectively and convey strategies clearly
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and drive solutions
