Palo Alto Networks is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to guide a global mobile software organization. You will shape secure, scalable mobile architectures and drive AI-enabled software delivery across cloud-native backend services.

You will mentor managers, own hiring, and partner with Product, UX and Security to deliver customer-centric capabilities while advancing engineering maturity and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with leadership exposure.
• Expertise in Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift) native development.
• Strong backend design experience with cloud platforms and microservices.

Job Summary

Lead a high‑performing global mobile engineering organization responsible for building secure, scalable, AI‑enabled enterprise mobile experiences. Drive modern mobile architecture, cloud‑native backend services, AI‑native software delivery, engineering excellence, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and organizational leadership for globally distributed engineering teams.
• Lead architecture evolution toward modular mobile applications backed by cloud‑native microservices.
• Drive adoption of AI‑enabled Software Development Lifecycle (AI‑SDLC/ADLC), including AI‑assisted design, coding, testing, documentation and code reviews.
• Champion Agentic SDLC practices and responsibly integrate AI coding assistants to improve engineering productivity.
• Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers through coaching, career development and technical leadership.
• Own hiring, performance management, succession planning and team growth.
• Partner with Product Management, UX, Security and Platform Engineering to deliver customer‑centric capabilities.
• Establish engineering metrics including DORA, Flow Metrics, deployment frequency, MTTR and developer productivity KPIs.
• Drive engineering excellence through CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, observability and secure coding practices.
• Lead production readiness, operational excellence, incident management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading high‑performing engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift) native development with MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, modular architecture, Jetpack Compose and SwiftUI.
• Strong understanding of enterprise mobile security including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, biometrics, certificate pinning and secure storage.
• Experience designing cloud‑native backend systems using Java/Spring Boot, .NET Core, Go or Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of REST, GraphQL, gRPC, event‑driven architectures and microservices.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS and AWS or Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps.
• Experience leveraging GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or similar AI engineering tools.
• Knowledge of AI agents, Agentic SDLC, LLM‑assisted development and responsible AI engineering.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and strategic leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building reusable mobile platforms, SDKs and shared components.
• Experience leading monolith‑to‑microservices modernization.
• Experience with Platform Engineering and Internal Developer Platforms.
• Knowledge of RAG, MCP, AI agents and enterprise AI integration patterns.
• Experience in Identity Security, IAM or Cybersecurity products.
