Job summary

Qualifications

  • MBA in Human Resources or MSW with relevant HR/ER exposure.
  • 5–8 years of HR/ER experience, including 2–3 years in ER in manufacturing.
  • Understanding of labour codes and regulatory compliance in India.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance Framework: Ensure adherence to company framework by coordinating with legal, plant HR, admin and business HR partners.
  • Grievance/Discipline Management: Handle employee grievances, investigations, reporting, and close disciplinary actions.
  • Statutory Audits: Plan and conduct audits across sites for action planning and compliance.
  • Third Party Compliance: Ensure contractor/agency compliance with new labour codes.
  • ER Dashboard Management: Use ER metrics to support senior leaders on cases and costs.
  • Litigation Case Management: Coordinate with legal counsel on labor-office matters, PF, ESIC, welfare fund, inspections, etc.
  • External Representations: Interact with PF, ESIC, authorities, and trade unions as needed.

Manager - Employee RelationsTo serve as a trusted advisor, facilitator, and guide to employees & people managers on all aspects of Employee Relations, including statutory compliance, employment-related risk management, policy interpretation, and governance. The role is responsible for managing the central compliance framework across manufacturing plants and office locations in India, overseeing labour and employment litigation, ensuring third-party compliance aligned with evolving labour codes, and driving capability building for business and line leaders on Employee Relations processes. The position also focuses on fostering a culture of high engagement and ethical conduct, ensuring 100% statutory compliance across all locations, and maintaining constructive engagement with trade unions and employee representatives.

KEY STAKEHOLDERS: INTERNAL

Plant HR Leads, HR Operation Lead, Legal Team Leads, Functional Team Leads, Admin Team Lead.

KEY STAKEHOLDERS: EXTERNAL -

External Legal Counsel & Advocates, Trade Unions, Statutory Authorities, local authorities.

REPORTING STRUCTURE: (Reports To/ Direct Reports Y/N)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:

MBA in Human Resources / MSW.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION – LLB / Certification In Employee Relations.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

5–8 years in HR/ER, with at least 2–3 years in employee relations role within manufacturing environment.

Roles & Responsibilities -
  • Compliance Framework: Ensure compliance of company compliance framework by collaborating and coordinating with key stakeholders like legal team leads, Plant HR leads, Admin leads and business HR partners.
  • Grievance / Discipline Management: Handle employee grievances, assist in HR related investigations, drafting of report, and helping line managers to close the disciplinary action plan.
  • Statutory Audits: Plan and conduct internal audits at manufacturing / non-manufacturing sites / offices across India for action planning and compliance.
  • Third Party Compliance: To work with plants HR leads, and HR business partners related to compliance of third-party associates / contractors in line with new labour codes.
  • Online Contractor Management System: End to end management & governance of online contractor’s management system across all sites / offices across India.
  • Standardization of employment documents: Collaborate and work very closely with HR operations to standardize the employment life cycle documents for all employees at factories / offices across India.
  • ER Dashboard Management: Use ER metrics and dashboards to provide decision support to senior leaders regarding cases, compliance, and employee costs.
  • Litigation Case Management: Regularly review ongoing labour and employment related cases and proactively coordinate with legal counsel for matters related to labor office, PF, ESIC, labour welfare fund, inspections etc.
  • Representing organization to external authorities like PF, ESIC, S&E, local police / administration, labour and employment authorities, courts and tribunals etc.

  • Effective communicator: Proficient in communication and should be able to present / explain / articulate ER/HR related matters to key stakeholders.
  • Expertise in Labour legislations / Statutory Compliance: Should be able to understand, interpret, explain & resolve complex matters related to labour codes, shop and establishment act & case laws.
