Job summary

Jobtailor in Pune, India seeks an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead control system concepts, architecture design, PLC software development, electrical hardware design (including BOM) and commissioning for test benches.

You will review inputs for software design, coordinate with suppliers and customers, perform BOM cost calculations, and ensure compliance with safety standards; 10–12 years in automotive R&D or EOL testing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related major.
• Experience in automotive R&D testing or EOL testing, especially on new energy vehicles.
• Knowledge of European and Indian electrical safety standards.
• Experience with PLCs and BOM creation.

Responsibilities

• Design control system concepts and architecture; lead PLC software design and commissioning for test benches.
• Perform electrical hardware design including BOM and commissioning.
• Review inputs for software design including cycle diagrams and supplier specs.
• Design and verify third‑party equipment; perform DFMEA and cost calculations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for control system concept and architecture design, PLC software design and commissioning, electrical HW design (including BOM) and commissioning for test bench
• Responsible for checking all the inputs for software design including cycle diagram, hardware drawing, supplier’s specification, control architecture etc.
• Responsible for the software, hardware design and commissioning of third‑party equipment or components
• Selection and verification of local electrical components (including clarification of acquisitions)
• Designing with the best safety and ergonomic practices.
• Knowhow in local standards and governmental guidelines
• Managing design reviews internally/ with customer.
• BOM Creation and Cost calculation for Local Proposals.
• DFMEA

Requirements

• 10-12 Years of Electrical Engineering/design working experience, dimensioning of Electrical Hardware sand good technical know‑how in the field of automotive R&D testing or EOL testing, especially on new energy vehicle.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related major
• EPLAN/Office/SAP Knowledge and skills
• Experience of working on PLC’s
• Knowledge of Europeans and Indian Electrical Safety Standards.
• Having experience in Testing Industry, Battery testing Facility experience is an added advantage.
