Manager Digital Project Management Solutions


  • Role Summary

Responsible for managing and monitoring project progress for thermal power projects using Integrated Project Management System (IPMS) along with other project management tools such as MS Project & Primavera. They will digitally enable project monitoring, resource mobilization tracking, milestone achievement verification and timely identification/escalation of schedule deviations.

They will function as the single point of contact (SPOC) for IPMS issues across project sites, manufacturing units and Head Office, ensuring timely resolution of issues, robust stakeholder coordination and consistent project data integrity.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Monitoring & Control
  • Implement, operate and manage IPMS for monitoring of all project deliverables, incl. engineering, manufacturing, etc.
  • Update and maintain project schedules using IPMS/ Primavera, reflecting actual progress, to ensure conformance to baseline plan and flag deviations from the same.
  • Monitor key milestones and contractual deliverables, generating alerts for potential delays and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Progress Measurement & Reporting
  • Develop templates and utilize the same to track engineering, procurement, manufacturing and site execution activities, ensuring accurate and timely progress updates.
  • Track physical & financial progress (incl. vendor and contractor performance) through IPMS, utilizing various project control methodologies
  • Prepare periodic reports and dashboards, analytics and variance reports for decision support of senior leadership.
  • Stakeholder & Issue Management
  • Serve as SPOC for IPMS related queries and technical troubleshooting, coordinating with both internal teams and vendor support team.
  • Liaise across engineering, procurement, quality, logistics and site teams to ensure smooth, synchronized data flow into the system.
  • Facilitate resolution of bottlenecks through cross-functional coordination and escalation management.
  • Resource Mobilization & Performance Tracking
  • Monitor resource mobilization and identify gaps
  • Coordinate implementation of remedial action plans
  • Training & Process Improvement
  • Maintain data governance standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness of project records.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams on effective use of IPMS and digital project monitoring tools, as and when required.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to digital workflows and system configurations to improve efficiency and usability.
  • Experience & Expertise:
  • 8–12 years of experience in project monitoring and management of large-scale thermal power projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of WRENCH-based IPMS (hands-on experience mandatory) or its equivalent digital project management system.
  • Proficient in project management techniques for large-scale thermal projects and in leveraging digital tools for enhanced project delivery.
  • Good understanding of thermal project lifecycle – engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret project data to support decision-making.
  • Exposure to digital transformation initiatives in project management will be an added advantage.
  • Educational Qualifications:
  • B. Tech./ BE/ or its Equivalent from a recognized university (mandatory).
  • Desired:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and/or Primavera for schedule management.
  • Competencies:
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, quality, and site execution teams.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
