Job summary

Albertsons Companies India is expanding its Strategy & Analytics team in Bangalore, seeking a senior analytics leader to manage Sr. Analysts and deliver data-driven insights for a fast-growing eCommerce business in the U.S.

You will build ML models, design robust data pipelines, and enable self-serve dashboards for international partners. You will collaborate with data engineers, own analytics delivery across time zones, and mentor a high-impact offshore team to drive measurable business

Qualifications

• Require a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or Applied Analytics.
• 9–12 years of analytics or data science experience, with 2+ years leading an offshore analytics team.
• Strong SQL, Python, and proficiency with cloud data platforms and BI tools.

About the Role:

As part of our continued investment in building a global analytics and insights capability, Albertsons Companies is expanding our Strategy & Analytics team with an offshore hub in Bangalore, India. This role will serve as the offshore team lead, supporting our fast-growing eCommerce business by delivering data-driven insights, building machine learning models, enabling end-to-end analytics pipelines, and scaling self-serve dashboards for our business partners in the U.S.

The Manager will be responsible for managing a team of Sr. Analysts in Bangalore and will serve as the primary point of contact for coordination with onshore counterparts in the U.S. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a world-class analytics center of excellence and drive measurable impact across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of Sr. Analysts based in Bangalore.
• Drive team development, performance management, and career growth
• Set priorities, allocate workstreams, and ensure delivery of high-quality outputs aligned with business objectives.
• Promote collaboration, technical excellence, and a strong team culture within the offshore team.

Advanced Analytics & AI/ML Modeling:

• Build and deploy predictive models and machine learning solutions (e.g., churn, LTV, segmentation, recommendations) using Python/R, leveraging internal and external data sources to drive personalized and scalable eCommerce experiences.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to design, test, and implement robust data pipelines and model execution workflows (e.g., using Databricks, Airflow) to enable continuous model scoring and insights delivery.
• Develop and maintain scalable dashboards and self-serve BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to track key eCommerce KPIs such as sales, conversion, customer retention, and site performance metrics.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the Bangalore team and the U.S.-based Strategy & Analytics team. Join regular syncs, translate business needs into project plans, communicate progress and blockers, and ensure alignment across time zones.

Insight Generation:

• Analyze customer behavior, shopping journeys, and campaign performance to uncover insights and support strategic recommendations, working with structured and unstructured datasets.
• Design and analyze A/B and multivariate tests in partnership with product and marketing teams. Support the rollout of learnings from experiments.

Data Governance & Quality Checks:

• Establish data validation practices within the team and ensure consistency and accuracy in all analytics deliverables.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Analytics).
• 9 to 12 years of experience in analytics or data science, with 2+ years managing an offshore analytics team.
• Strong technical proficiency in SQL, Python, and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying ML models and managing analytics pipelines.
• Proficiency in dashboarding and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate across global teams and time zones.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to coach and develop team members.
