Role Purpose

The Cyber Security Engineering IAM & PAM team seeks an independent, proactive individual committed to making a meaningful contribution as a PAM/IAM support engineer team lead. The role leads technical initiatives and enhances IAM / PAM solutions that align with business requirements, protecting the group’s confidentiality, integrity and availability.

Reporting

Reports to: Director IAM & PAM Architecture, Cyber Security.

Direct reports: Leads a small team; may manage vendors or contingency resources.

Key Relationships
  • Security architecture, Identity and Access Management, cyber strategy business function.
  • Governance, risk and compliance, programme management teams.
  • Business Information Security Officers (BISOs), Infrastructure & Cloud operations, engineering, and architecture teams.
  • Internal risk and audit functions, architecture and corporate approval forums.
  • External partners/vendors and industry schemes.
Location / Working

Bengaluru – Hybrid Working.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to domain strategies and architectures across identity & access management, privileged access management and secrets management.
  • Ensure controls for the domain area remain effective.
  • Lead and deliver smaller projects or discrete workstreams within larger cyber programmes.
  • Manage and deliver changes to controls outside of formal projects.
  • Develop metrics and artefacts to evidence and report control effectiveness and risk.
  • Provide critical issue support for operational incidents related to domain technologies.
  • Accountable for team objectives and ongoing activities.
  • Solve complex problems and keep current with emerging technologies.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Deliver activities aligned with cyber security strategies and shape project delivery with senior managers.
  • Create and maintain key artefacts supporting evidence, assurance activities and reporting.
  • Oversee control operations and demonstrate effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage key performance and risk indicators.
  • Support a small team, fostering development and consistent service outcomes.
Impact

The role influences all business areas, mitigating risk and impact of cyber‑attacks on financial, regulatory, customer and brand levels. It is essential for addressing regulatory concerns across regulated entities.

Qualifications
  • Experience in engineering and operating PAM and IAM technologies, including integration with core platforms.
  • Proven experience managing direct reports and achieving operational goals.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, platforms and applications relevant to the domain.
  • Engineering layered control capabilities; understanding of information security principles and standard methodologies.
  • Awareness of adversary tools, techniques and procedures (TTPs).
  • Familiarity with security metrics, policies, standards and frameworks (NIST, CIS).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills; infrastructure‑as‑code mindset.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, TOGAF, GIAC, or equivalents are desirable.
Business and Sector Expertise

Experience in financial services or regulated environments (e.g., SWIFT) and security‑focused roles of at least 5 years, with 8 years in technology overall.

Leadership & Management Experience

Advocacy for change and inspiring teams to achieve organisational goals, with a track record of delivering results without compromising quality.
