Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Manager Application Development specializing in SAP MDG to provide strategic leadership during implementations and ensure high-quality deliverables. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 implementation cycles of SAP MDG, experience with finance master data, and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include resource planning, executive reporting, and collaboration with various stakeholders. This position is based in Pune District, Maharashtra, India.

Qualifications

• Ability to configure BRF+ and Web Dynpro using Floor Plan Designer.

Opportunity

Avantor is looking for a Manager Application Development – SAP MDG who provides strategic leadership and expert guidance for successful SAP CFIN and MDG implementations, ensuring high‑quality deliverables, strong governance, and alignment with enterprise initiatives. Leads cross‑functional collaboration, resource planning, and executive reporting while driving project execution with clear communication and stakeholder management.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 implementation cycle experience with configuring SAP MDG.
• Implementing MDG for FINANCE MASTER DATA.
• Configuring BRF+.
• Configuring FINANCE Master data model/entity types and related UI configuration.
• Configuring Web Dynpro using Floor Plan Designer is highly desirable.
• Understanding of BADIs.
• Configuration of DRF (Data Replication Framework).
• Ability to document master data processes using graphical tools such as Visio, PowerPoint, or other modeling tools.
• Sound working experience of SAP ERP FINANCE MASTER DATA.
• Experience and/or knowledge of working with SAP Data Services and Data Steward.
• Prior experience with data work such as data validation, cleansing, migration.
• Understanding of meta‑data.
• Experience with system integration.

• Provides leadership and expert advice related to all technology, process, methodology, and resources needed for successful implementation SAP CFIN and MDG project.
• Provides strategic vision of SAP MDG implementation with a thorough understanding of the dependencies from and impact on other enterprise initiatives.
• Accountable for the quality of all the deliverables related to SAP MDG.
• Reviews and provides key inputs to SAP MDG Project Plan and detailed tasks, identifies well qualified resources with specialized skill set and staffs the project. Provides directions to the MDG and other lead members of the project.
• Collaborates with Process Leads and Data Leads from client, third‑party system integrators and SAP for successful completion of joint responsibilities of the project.
• Provides executive summary to the Engagement Partner on a regular basis and at the completion of key milestones in the project.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and team building skills.
