Job summary

Tata Consulting Engineers invites a Geo-technical/Rock Mechanics Specialist to lead design of underground structures like tunnels and caverns for hydro projects in India. You will handle rock mechanics analysis, slope stability, and seepage studies using RocScience tools.

Interaction with cross-functional teams is essential. The ideal candidate has 5–12 years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with Indian/British/American/European codes.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech Civil Engineering is required.
• M.E./M.Tech in Geo-technical/Rock Mechanics/Underground structures is required.
• 5–12 years of experience in geotechnical design for underground structures.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, detail and prepare construction drawings for underground structures and cavern works for hydro/water resources projects.
• Review rock supports, specifications, design criteria, and site geology interpretations for hydro power projects.

Geo-technical /Rock Mechanics Specialist

What are the main responsibilities for this individual

• 1. Analysis, design, detailing, coordination & preparation of construction drawings related to underground structures, Powerhouse cavern etc. for hydro /water resources projects
• 2. Involved in the design/ drawing preparation rock supports, preparation specifications, design criteria, interpretation of geology of the site and geological loggings, review of contractor's / designer's designs and drawings for Hydro Power Projects

Key Skills Required

• 1. Have strong technical skills and proven experience in design of underground structures, hill slope stability, seepage analysis for hydro projects including experience in using RocScience software
• 2. International experience would be an added advantage.
• 3. Have good communication capabilities- oral, written and presentation skills.
• 4. Familiarity with Indian, British, American and European Codes would be an added advantage
