Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure smooth operation of machinery, electrical systems, and panel wiring at our site in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, India. You will collaborate with production and engineering teams to maximize uptime and efficiency.

Ideal candidates will have a Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical engineering and 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with strong PLC and control panel skills, and a focus on safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or similar in Electrical/Mechanical engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Expertise in electrical systems, machinery and controls.
• Knowledge of PLCs and automation systems; able to read electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and electrical systems in line with company standards.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance to prevent machine failures and extend equipment life.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment with proper setup.
• Assist design, assembly and wiring of control panels to meet standards.
• Modify and upgrade electrical panels and wiring when needed.
• Maintain maintenance logs and service records.
• Coordinate with other departments to plan maintenance schedules and improvements.
• Ensure safety standards and lock-out/tag-out regulations during maintenance.
• Provide technical support and training to junior staff.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by Management.

Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will ensure the smooth operation of machinery, equipment, and electrical systems to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain equipment performance. We will give priority to candidates with experience in panel building and panel wiring.

You will report to the MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER and work onsite in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, India.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct regular maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and electrical systems in compliance with company standards.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to prevent machine failures and ensure equipment longevity.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
• Support the design, assembly, and wiring of control panels, ensuring they meet industry standards.
• Modify and upgrade electrical panels and wiring when necessary.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, including service records and work orders.
• Collaborate with other departments to plan and implement maintenance schedules and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support and training to junior maintenance staff.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

The Essentials - You Will Have

• Diploma Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems, machinery, and controls.
• Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and other automation systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with safety standards, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and maintenance best practices.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and resolve issues efficiently.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have

• Experience in panel building and panel wiring.
• Experience in the design, assembly, and testing of control panels.
• Relevant certifications in electrical maintenance or automation.
• Experience supporting installation, commissioning, and upgrades of industrial equipment and electrical panels.
