Job summary

Infosys is seeking a mainframe development professional in Pune to analyze requirements and design system features. You will build, test, and maintain COBOL-based solutions, coordinating with remote teams and adhering to architectural guidelines.

The role emphasizes strong communication, problem solving, and ability to travel as needed to client sites or offshore delivery centers. A solid foundation in PL/1, JCL, CICS and DB2 is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or Technology degree.
• Strong knowledge of mainframe technologies: COBOL, PL/1, CICS, JCL, and DB2.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work with remote teams.

• Anlyzing user requirements, envisioning system features and functionality.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable mainframe codes by setting expectations and features priorities.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development.
• Contributing to team meetings, troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
• Understand architecture requirements and ensure effective design, development, validation and support activities.
