Mainframe Developer (COBOL, JCL, DB2) — On-site, India
About The Opportunity
A leader in IT services and enterprise systems integration, operating in legacy application support, mainframe modernization, and mission‑critical financial systems. We partner with large banking and insurance clients to maintain, optimize, and modernize high‑volume transaction processing environments on IBM z/OS platforms.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production‑quality COBOL programs and JCL scripts for batch and online transaction processing.
- Develop and support CICS and DB2 interfaces; tune SQL and program logic for performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve runtime incidents using TSO/ISPF, trace tools and job logs; implement corrective fixes and RCA documentation.
- Build and maintain VSAM file definitions and utilities; coordinate data migration and backup procedures for datasets.
- Participate in code review, unit testing, and deployment activities; prepare implementation packages and runbooks for production cutovers.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (QA, Release Management, BA) to prioritize fixes, deliver enhancements, and adhere to change control processes.
