Responsibilities

• Install, configure and administer IBM CICS Transaction Server on z/OS
• Manage CICS regions (TOR, AOR, FOR) and resource definitions
• Monitor transaction response times and system availability
• Troubleshoot CICS abends, outages and performance bottlenecks
• Analyze CICS logs, dumps and traces for root cause diagnostics
• Coordinate upgrades, migrations, maintenance and deployments with teams
• Collaborate with z/OS, DB2, MQ and network teams to resolve issues

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Administrator specializing in IBM CICS (Customer Information Control System) to manage, maintain, configure, and support CICS environments on IBM z/OS mainframe systems. The candidate will be responsible for CICS region administration, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, system availability, and production support to ensure stable and efficient transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and administer IBM CICS Transaction Server environments on z/OS.
• Perform CICS region setup, configuration, startup, shutdown, and maintenance activities.
• Manage CICS regions, including TOR (Terminal Owning Region), AOR (Application Owning Region), and FOR (File Owning Region), where applicable.
• Administer CICS resources such as programs, transactions, files, maps, terminals, and connections.
• Configure and maintain CICS resource definitions using CSD, RDO, and CICS CEDA commands.
• Monitor CICS system performance, transaction response times, resource utilization, and system availability.
• Troubleshoot CICS abends, transaction failures, region issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Analyze CICS logs, dumps, traces, and diagnostic information to identify and resolve incidents.
• Support CICS upgrades, version migrations, maintenance, and application deployments.
• Work with z/OS system programmers, DB2, MQ, networking, application development, and operations teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support CICS connectivity and integration with IBM MQ, DB2, VSAM, and other mainframe subsystems.
• Perform routine health checks, capacity monitoring, and preventive maintenance.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes, including root cause analysis.
