Job summary

Colan Infotech is seeking a Magento Backend Developer to build and maintain APIs, integrations, and custom Magento 2 modules. You will work with frontend, architecture, and integration teams to deliver secure and scalable eCommerce solutions.

Located onsite in Thousand Lights, Chennai, this full-time role requires strong hands-on Magento 2 backend expertise, API security, and experience leading backend efforts. You will upgrade Magento versions and mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Magento 2 backend development.
• Expertise in REST API and GraphQL architecture, request handling, and authentication.
• Experience with token-based authentication and system integrations.
• Solid knowledge of deployment practices, Composer, patching, and version control.
• Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing backend development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom REST and GraphQL APIs for headless frontends (React/Node).
• Integrate Magento with ERP, logistics, payment gateways, and loyalty systems.
• Lead Magento 2.x version upgrades.
• Design and implement reusable, secure, and efficient Magento modules and services.
• Define scalable and reusable backend architecture for multi-project Magento implementations.
• Set development standards, conduct code reviews, and define integration strategies.
• Evaluate third-party modules, API security, caching mechanisms, and queue systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve critical technical issues across projects.
• Lead and mentor developers across modules including APIs, upgrades, and integrations.
