Job summary

Solventum is seeking a MacOS Subject Matter Expert to own the macOS estate within the EUC Systems Management portfolio. You will lead Jamf Pro, Apple Business Manager, APNS integrations, and end-to-end zero-touch provisioning for secure, compliant macOS management at enterprise scale.

The role covers patching, security hardening, scripting, and collaboration with MSPs and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Hybrid work model with domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) or High School diploma/GED or higher.
• 7+ years of IT experience in lieu of the education requirement, including 5+ years of hands-on experience leading and engineering Jamf Pro (or an equivalent Apple MDM) at enterprise scale.
• Proven track record of evaluating, recommending, and adoption of emerging technologies, modern management capabilities, and automation solutions across the EUC ecosystem to enhance user experience, drive innovation, strengthen security, and improve operational efficiency.
• Excellent stakeholder communication, leadership reporting, project and delivery management skills, with experience working in Agile environments and successfully managing multiple concurrent workstreams, priorities, dependencies, risks, and cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own configuration, management and continuous improvement of the Jamf Pro environment, including Prestage enrolments, Smart and Static Groups, Extension Attributes, policies, configuration profiles and Blueprints.
• Own zero-touch provisioning end to end through Apple Business Manager and Automated Device Enrolment, and administer ABM/APNs integrations for authentication, group targeting, and access.
• Collaborate with Global Hardware Procurement to define and govern Apple hardware standards and warranty programs.
• Configure and enforce macOS system settings and security baselines through Blueprints and policies.
• Own macOS application packaging and delivery, building, signing, and deploying .pkg and .dmg packages through Jamf policies.
• Lead the validation, testing, deployment, and operational readiness of new macOS software deployments and configuration changes.
• Lead macOS and third-party application patching, ensuring remediation within SLAs and maintaining security posture.
• Own Endpoint Vulnerability Management for the Mac estate, driving remediation and reporting in collaboration with Security Operations.
• Identify and eliminate recurring macOS operational issues using shell/Bash, Python, and JamF automation.
• Partner with Service Desk and regional teams to improve enrolment guidance and self-help content.

Impact You’ll Make in this Role

• Accountable for leading the delivery, engineering, and support of the macOS estate within the EUC Systems Management portfolio, operating in a diverse Agile Scrum team.
• Serves as the organisation’s deepest technical authority on Apple platform management — Jamf Pro, Apple Business Manager, Apple Push Notification Service, and macOS — with responsibility for endpoint security and compliance, macOS and third-party patching, application packaging and lifecycle management, zero-touch device provisioning, vulnerability management, automation and scripting, reporting, and end-user experience optimisation across the managed Mac fleet.
• While macOS is the primary focus of this role, the position also requires solid working knowledge of Windows workstations OS, contributing to Windows delivery and support alongside the wider team, ensuring endpoint standards, security policies, and user experience.
• Managed Service Partner Governance Lead engagement with Managed Service Partners (MSPs) to drive seamless operations, service excellence, and the successful delivery of technical initiatives, ensuring commitments, priorities, and business objectives are achieved.

MacOS Engineering & Delivery Management

• Own configuration, management and continuous improvement of the Jamf Pro environment, including Prestage enrolments, Smart and Static Groups, Extension Attributes, policies, configuration profiles and Blueprints.
• Own zero-touch provisioning end to end through Apple Business Manager and Automated Device Enrolment, and administer platform dependencies including the APNS certificate, ABM tokens, Volume Purchase Program content, and Jamf Pro integrations with Okta / Entra ID for authentication, group targeting, and role-based access.
• Collaborate with the Global Hardware Procurement team to define, maintain, and govern Apple hardware standards, approved device models, and Apple warranty programs across the enterprise.
• Configure and enforce macOS system settings and security baselines through Blueprints, covering SCEP certificates, WiFi, File Vault, restrictions, Gatekeeper, and system extensions.
• Own macOS application packaging and delivery, building, signing, and deploying .pkg and .dmg packages through Jamf policies and Self Service in line with approved naming, bundle identifier, codesigning, and checksum standards, and curate the Self-Service catalogue.
• Lead the validation, testing, deployment, and operational readiness of new macOS software deployments and configuration changes, including pilot rings and rollback plans.
• Lead macOS and third-party application patching, ensuring remediation activities are completed within defined SLAs while maintaining high compliance and operational stability, and operate the macOS Update and update exception workflow to balance business continuity against security posture.
• Own Endpoint Vulnerability Management for the Mac estate, driving identification, prioritization, tracking, remediation, and reporting of endpoint security vulnerabilities in collaboration with Security Operations, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams.
• Lead initiatives to identify and eliminate recurring macOS operational issues, reducing manual overhead through shell/Bash, Python, and JamF Automation and improving service quality, IT process friction, and client satisfaction.
• Partner with the Service Desk and regional support teams to strengthen macOS enrolment guidance, self-help content, and first-contact resolution.

Stakeholder Communication & Leadership Reporting

• Provide clear, concise, and timely updates with insightful reporting, compliance metrics, and actionable recommendations on macOS operational performance, project progress, risks, issues, and key metrics to the Leadership team and stakeholders.

Continuous Learning & Technology Innovation

• Track the Apple platform roadmap - annual macOS releases, declarative device management, Apple silicon, and Managed Software Update - and plan readiness ahead of each release cycle.
• Evaluate, implement, and promote emerging technologies, modern management capabilities, and best practices that improve macOS endpoint management, and mentor Windows-focused engineers to build cross-platform depth in the team.

Your Skills and Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution OR High School diploma/GED or higher.
• 7+ years of IT experience in lieu of the education requirement, including 5+ years of hands-on experience leading and engineering Jamf Pro (or an equivalent Apple MDM) at enterprise scale, with deep expertise in Apple Business Manager and Automated Device Enrolment, configuration profiles and policy design, macOS application packaging and signing, FileVault and macOS security hardening, compliance policy implementation, Conditional Access integration, macOS patch and update management, vulnerability management, and Apple device lifecycle management.
• Proven track record of evaluating, recommending, and adoption of emerging technologies, modern management capabilities, and automation solutions across the EUC ecosystem to enhance user experience, drive innovation, strengthen security, and improve operational efficiency.
• Excellent stakeholder communication, leadership reporting, project and delivery management skills, with experience working in Agile environments and successfully managing multiple concurrent workstreams, priorities, dependencies, risks, and cross-functional initiatives.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role

• Jamf Certified Tech / Jamf Certified Admin / Jamf Certified Expert, or Apple Certified Support Professional certification.
• Deep technical knowledge of Mac and PC hardware, current protocols, operating systems, and standards, including Apple silicon and Intel platform differences.
• Experienced in cross functional tools including Zscaler/VPN solution, Okta, Entra ID, endpoint security tooling, and ServiceNow.
• Experience supporting a globally distributed Mac fleet with regional support models and follow-the-sun escalation.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on project management experience with a focus on delivering complex projects in an organized and efficient manner.
