Amazon is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer II for EU INTech - Exports, Emerging and Expansions. You will work on building and validating ML models for search and document retrieval at a massive scale, collaborating with ML experts to run rigorous experiments and deploy successful prototypes.

You will join teams across Luxembourg, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, contributing to innovative customer experiences and scalable production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent.
• 2+ years of non-internship software development experience
• Experience with data structures, algorithms and OO design
• Experience with Big Data, NoSQL, Map-Reduce
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices
• Knowledge of ML approaches and algorithms
• Experience with concurrent, high-throughput systems and distributed systems
• Experience in multiple programming languages (C++, Java) and scripting (Python)
• Interest in Document Retrieval/Search Engine Technologies/NLP is a plus

Amazon is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Machine Learning Engineer to join our E3 team. You will work with the largest online retail search application in the world, both in terms of users, catalogue size, and computing resources. Your work will directly impact millions of customers. You will collaborate with recognized experts in science and engineering to apply algorithms and ML models.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects in Machine Learning in Search space to create highly innovative customer experiences;
• Process and analyze large amounts of data to discover patterns, find opportunities, and contribute to seize these opportunities;
• Work closely with Machine Learning experts to validate models via statistically rigorous experiments across millions of customers;
• Work closely with Scientists to build scalable prototypes for testing. Integrate successful models and algorithms in production systems at very large scale;
• Work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done;
• Collaborate with teams across Luxembourg, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad;

Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with data structure implementation, basic algorithm development, and/or object-oriented design principles
• Experience building and improving complex software systems for end users
• Experience with Big Data, NoSQL, Map-Reduce
• Solid knowledge of software engineering best practices
• Knowledge of machine learning approaches and algorithms
• Experience on highly concurrent, high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems
• Experience in more than one major programming language (C++, Java, or related) and at least one scripting language (Perl, Python, or equivalent)
• Experience or interest in Document Retrieval (indexing), Search Engine Technologies (e.g. Lucene), or Document Understanding (Natural Language Processing) is desirable but not mandatory
