SWITS DIGITAL Private Limited in Chennai is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain scalable AI/ML solutions in production environments. The role requires strong Python expertise, MLOps experience, data engineering skills, and proficiency with CI/CD, containers, and cloud-native tech.

You will collaborate with Data Scientists, DevOps, and Engineering teams to industrialize ML models, optimize data pipelines, and ensure secure, reliable AI applications

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Python development experience.
• Strong background in MLOps and production deployment of ML models.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native tech.
• Proficient in Linux environments and Bash scripting.
• Experience working in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize data ingestion and ETL pipelines for AI/ML applications.
• Build, deploy, and maintain production-grade ML pipelines using MLOps best practices.
• Develop and maintain scalable Python applications with emphasis on performance and security.
• Manage Python environments and dependencies across dev and prod.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment of ML apps.
• Deploy and manage containerized apps using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Design and optimize workflows with Apache Airflow for data processing and ML orchestration.
• Develop and optimize Denodo data virtualization layers.
• Work with PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and data management.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and enforce secure coding practices across AI/ML apps.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, ensure ML service availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and observability for AI apps.
• Stay updated with emerging AI/ML tech including LLMs and Agentic AI.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain scalable AI/ML solutions in production environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, MLOps, data engineering, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native technologies. This role involves collaborating with Data Scientists, DevOps, and Engineering teams to industrialize machine learning models, optimize data pipelines, and ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing AI applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize data ingestion and ETL pipelines for AI/ML applications.
• Build, deploy, and maintain production-grade machine learning pipelines using MLOps best practices.
• Develop and maintain scalable Python applications with a focus on performance, code quality, and security.
• Manage Python environments, dependencies, and package compatibility across development and production environments.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment of machine learning applications.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Design and optimize workflows using Apache Airflow for data processing and ML orchestration.
• Develop and optimize virtualized data access layers using Denodo.
• Work with PostgreSQL databases for schema design, query optimization, and data management.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in Python development.
• Strong expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), decorators, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with Python environment management tools such as pip, uv, mamba, and micromamba.
• Hands-on experience in MLOps, model deployment, model versioning, and production support.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of Linux administration and Bash scripting.
• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Denodo Data Virtualization Platform.
• Expertise in Apache Airflow DAG development and workflow orchestration.
• Experience integrating Airflow with databases, APIs, and ML platforms.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, debugging, and incident management.
• Familiarity with secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
