Switchgear and Control Technics Private Limited is hiring a LV Panel Testing & Installation Technician/Engineer to install and test LV switchgear panels and related electrical systems. You will ensure safe, compliant, and timely completion of installation activities per project specs and standards.

The role requires 1–3 years of LV switchgear panel installation experience, reading drawings, and knowledge of busbar and cable terminations. EPC sites and fieldwork with travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred for Engineer role.
• Certification in electrical installation or switchgear is an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Install and position LV switchgear panels, PCC, MCC, APFC, and distribution boards.
• Carry out panel alignment, levelling, anchoring, and inter-panel coupling.
• Perform busbar jointing and interconnection activities.
• Install cable trays, conduits, and support structures for switchgear.
• Terminate power and control cables per wiring diagrams.
• Ensure proper earthing and bonding of panels and equipment.
• Conduct insulation resistance tests and continuity checks.
• Verify wiring per approved drawings and schematics.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Assist in functional testing of breakers, relays, metering, and protection circuits.
• Rectify installation issues identified during testing.
• Follow site safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Maintain installation records and punch lists for project close-out.
• Comply with IEC/IS electrical standards.

Job Description

Job Summary:

The LV Panel Testing & Installation Technician/Engineer is responsible for the installation, assembly, alignment, testing, and commissioning support of Low Voltage (LV) switchgear panels and associated electrical systems. The role ensures all installation activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, electrical standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Install and position LV switchgear panels, PCC, MCC, APFC, distribution boards, and control panels as per approved drawings.

Carry out panel alignment, levelling, anchoring, and inter-panel coupling.

Perform busbar jointing and interconnection activities.

Install cable trays, conduits, and support structures related to switchgear installations.

Terminate power and control cables according to wiring schematics and cable schedules.

Ensure proper earthing and bonding of panels and associated equipment.

Conduct insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, and cable checks.

Verify wiring connections as per approved drawings.

Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

Assist in functional testing of breakers, relays, metering systems, and protection circuits.

Rectify installation-related issues identified during testing.

Safety & Quality

Follow all site safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and lockout/tagout procedures.

Ensure installations comply with relevant electrical standards and project specifications.

Maintain housekeeping and safe working conditions at the worksite.

Report safety hazards, non-conformities, and installation issues promptly.

Documentation

Maintain installation records, inspection reports, and test reports.

Update punch lists and support project close-out documentation.

Required Qualifications

Diploma / Bachelor Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (preferred for Engineer position).

Relevant certification in electrical installation or switchgear systems is an advantage.

Experience Requirements

1-3 years of experience in LV switchgear panel installation.

Experience with MCC, PCC, APFC, synchronization, and distribution panels.

Technical Skills

Knowledge of LV switchgear systems and electrical distribution equipment.

Ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs, and wiring diagrams.

Understanding of busbar systems, cable termination, and panel interconnections.

Familiarity with electrical testing instruments such as:

Insulation Resistance Tester (Megger)

Multimeters

Clamp Meter

Continuity Tester

Knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures.

Preferred Skills

Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Team coordination and communication abilities.

Ability to work under project deadlines.

Knowledge of IEC, IS, and other applicable electrical standards.
