Job summary

Quest Global Bengaluru is seeking a senior design and development engineer with 15-20 years in locomotive subsystems, responsible for ventilation, cooling, and mechanical integration across rail and heavy industries. You will own system specs, perform FMEA and RAMS, and lead cross-functional reviews with Designers, Manufacturing, Sourcing and service teams.

The role requires strong GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFMA/DFS skills, hands-on CAD work in NX/Catia/SolidWorks/Creo, and proven experience

Job Requirements

• Should have in-depth knowledge of Locomotive Ventilation & Cooling – Including strong knowledge of systems and sub systems
• Cooling design specific to handle Desert Environments, Sealing, RAMS, Environmental Safety regulations
• Engineer should have experience of developing system functional specs, requirements, verification, validation, FEA, CFD, RAMS, PPAPs.
• 15-20 years of experience in subsystems / component Design & Development of Locomotive / automobile / heavy industries
• Should have strong proven experience in handling customers across multiple geographies and meeting resp customers processes and standards
• Will be owning key CTQ like delivery, schedules, quality for all teams within multiple business units
• Experience on NPI projects, Fixture design development, structural calculations, bolted joint, weld joint calculations
• Analyzing shop issues and providing solutions
• Should have worked on concept generation using idea generation methods
• Have good knowledge on new component introduction process, FMEA and validation process of components
• Should be very good at GD&T, Tolerance stack-up, DFA/DFM/DFS
• Knowledge to Interpret FEA Analysis reports
• Strong knowledge of Industry Codes and Engineering standards like ASME, ISO & European specific standards
• Should have minimum 8+ years of experience as checker / Reviewer / SME
• Should have worked with cross-functional team of Designers, Engineers, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Field service and external consulting engineering teams
• Should be able to generate Manufacturing drawings of various kinds (Sheetmetal, Castings, Forgings, Welding) with application of GD&T as applicable
• Present in meetings which will be scheduled with functional managers / CFT or toll gate reviews
• Shop floor experience in Sheetmetal, Casting, Forging, Metal joining techniques (Bolting, Welding, Riveting), plastics
• To focus on value additions and cost savings beyond the expected tasks by customer like Poke-Yoke Methods
• Experience in multi-CAD tools like Nx / Catia / Solidworks / Creo
