We are searching for a Systems Engineer – Linux Services to join our Global Technology Operations

The Systems Engineer's primary focus is day-to-day operations of Lionbridge servers, networks, and computer systems in Lionbridge’s datacenters and global data networks.

You will monitor business-critical systems to prevent delays and outages in our high-availability datacenter and networks, finding and resolving irregularities and performance issues. You will help coordinate and execute change projects to IT backend systems and environments while working with other Global IT teams.

Experience: 5+ years

What you will do:

1. Coordinate and implement changes to IT backend systems and environments working with other Corporate IT teams.
2. Perform research and analysis of reported problems and issues, develop, and recommend solutions.
3. Maintain configuration management tools and processes to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of IT services/systems.
4. Involvement in operational planning, creating standard operating procedures and policies.
5. Be highly organized and capable of performing multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and take part in 24/7 work rotations.

To be successful you will have:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or Science in Information Systems or its equivalent.
2. Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
3. Broad infrastructure IT experience and competence with specialist knowledge in one or more relevant areas of Linux services, such as managing configuration of CentOS Virtual and Physical servers, database systems such as Cassandra and MySQL, replication, patching, monitoring systems, etc. Experience in Ubuntu will be an added advantage.
4. Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Knowledge of and experience with automation and scripting tools such as SQL, Python, PowerShell, etc.
6. Experience working in a global team across multiple time zones.
