Job summary

Iflow is seeking a Linux Kernel Engineer in Bengaluru to port/test open-source features and fix kernel issues found in regression. You will work across multiple kernel versions and validate stability with LTP/Kselftest, debugging problems and understanding hardware interactions.

The role requires strong C programming skills, experience with kernel modules, and collaboration within a team to ensure performance and reliability, alongside CI/CD processes for kernel development.

Qualifications

Linux Kernel Engineer

Description

Kernel Engineer with skills to port/test open-source features and fix possible kernel issues found in regression.

Key Responsibilities

• Working across multiple Linux kernel versions.
• Validate kernel stability using LTP/Kselftest.
• Debug and fix kernel bugs found in regression testing.
• Understanding the hardware and debugging software issues
• Independently handle and debug issues within the Linux kernel and associated hardware, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Provide support for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes related to kernel development.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. (Engineering )
• Proven experience in Linux kernel development, including writing device drivers and kernel modules.
• Strong understanding of operating system concepts and computer architecture.
• Proficiency in C programming language; familiarity with other programming languages is a plus.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Knowledge of debugging tools and techniques for kernel development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with real-time operating systems or embedded systems.
• Familiarity with ARM64 or x86 architecture.
• Previous contributions to open-source projects related to Linux kernel.
