Job summary

Tekskills Inc. is seeking a Linux kernel and driver engineer with 2-4 years of experience to join our embedded team. The role focuses on kernel configuration, building, debugging, and driver development across Linux nodes and Android platforms.

Responsibilities include BSP work, porting, board bring-up on ARM, and contributing to kernel subsystems such as ext4, NAND, MMC, SCSI, and UFS, with emphasis on testing and automation.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in CS/ Electronics
• 2-4 years of experience
• Strong C programming and debugging skills
• Experience with Linux kernel configuration and building
• Experience with Linux block device drivers
• Experience with Linux BSP and porting
• Experience with EXT4, F2FS file systems
• Experience with Linux bootloaders, U-Boot, Fastboot
• Experience with Linux block layer and board bring up
• Knowledge of OS concepts and GNU toolchain
• Scripting with Python, Perl, PowerShell
• Understanding of Linux kernel source code
• Experience with Linux NAND/MMC/SCSI/UFS device drivers
• NAND firmware development and Android app development
• Linux device driver testing and automation

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Linux kernel components and drivers for ARM/Linux platforms.
• Contribute to BSP, porting, and board bring-up activities across Android/Linux.
• Analyze logs, debug kernel issues, and optimize performance.

Preferred Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech Computer Science/ Electronics

Preferred Experience: 2 to 4 years

Preferred Skill sets:

• Experience on Linux Kernel Configuration, Kernel Building and Debug (trace logs, kernel crash logs)
• Experience on Linux Block device driver development
• Experience on Linux BSP (Board support packages) and porting
• Experience on Linux File systems like EXT4, F2FS
• Experience on Linux boot loaders
• Uboot, Fastboot
• Experience on Linux Block Layer
• Experience on various Board Bring up(Ex: ARM platform) with Android and Linux
• Knowledge of OS concepts
• Experience on GNU tool chain/ make system
• Strong C programming and debugging skills
• Script development using python, perl, powershell.
• Understanding of Linux kernel source code

Additional Skills:

1. Knowledge of Flash translation layer and its role
2. Experience on Linux NAND and MMC device drivers
3. Experience on Linux SCSI Device Drivers
4. Experience on Linux UFS device driver
5. Experience in NAND firmware development
